Grizzly Bear Watches Hikers
This Grizzly Bear was just a few feet off a common hiking trail as Hikers approached and re-routed due to the encounter. While Grizzly Bears in Hyperphagia(just before hibernation) probably need a wider birth, this fella was probably more concerned over the intention of the hikers(defense) than anything potentially offensive. This Grizzly Bear was in an area of common use by people at this time and all did a great job of getting along during a critical time for this amazing Bear. Once this Bear felt the threat was not harmful, he continued digging for tubers to pack on pounds in the last weeks of weight gain before hibernation.
