Private Shore Excursions Da Nang City and Marble Beach (chan May Port)

Begin this fascinating day with a scenic drive through south-central Vietnam. First stop is the Cham Museum where the world’s largest collection of Cham sculptures and relics is found within the architecturally rich halls. Next, it’s the lively Han Market, where you can sample local delicacies and shop for a myriad of souvenirs. . Have your camera ready for Marble Mountain Village, a group of five striking limestone and marble hills marked with caves, temples and gardens.   Your day concludes on historic Marble Beach, a popular spot for American GIs during the Vietnam War. Here, enjoy the scenery and refreshments before returning to port.

Da Nang is the biggest commercial, educational and transportation hub of this part of Vietnam, but before its modern incarnation, this region was part of the Champa Kingdom, which ruled here between the 7th and early 19th centuries. Some descendants of this kingdom, the Cham people, still live in this region and speak a distinct Malayo-Polynesian language.  First, we will visit Cham Museum to learn more about Cham culture, then transfer to Marble Mountain Village, one of the premier attractions in Da Nang.  This group of five striking limestone and marble hills marks the site of caves, temples and, at its base, lovely gardens and a stone-carving village, where sculptors create beautiful artwork from the local marble.  Explore the Marble Mountains Cave of Heaven & Hell to admire the many altars carved into stone in the depths of the mountain.  Conclude our day with a relaxing visit to Marble Mountain Beach where you'll enjoy refreshments and the natural beauty of this spot that was made famous during the Vietnam War, when American GIs spent time swimming and surfing on their off-hours at this glorious stretch of golden sand.  Now, the beach attracts surfers and tourists from around the world.  After relaxing , we will have a brief visit at the bustling Han Market before heading back to the pier.  Originally a small trading post during Vietnam's time under French control, it has developed into a large marketplace offering flowers, footwear, fabrics, and fruit at excellent prices.
