This “North Vietnam Tour -Trekking & explore Hill Tribe 9 Days” is for those who are adventurous but who

maybe are not up to long treks. You will experience remote mountain villages in far north of Vietnam,

often close to the Chinese border. This is the land of the ethnic minorities, and it is one of the few places

left in this global world. Prepare yourself to hike through incredible scenery and get an off the beaten track

of the rice paddies. You will have an opportunity to interrelate with the locals by staying in Homestays, in a

variety of villages and mountainous regions.

Itinerary

Day 1: DAY 1: HANOI – NGHIA LO- TU LE ( L, D)

Stop At: Suoi Giang - Yen Bai, Van Chan District, Yen Bai Vietnam
DAY 1: HANOI – NGHIA LO- TU LE ( L, D)

8am: Our guide will pick-up you at hotel. We pass Nghia Lo town – the home of Thai people – one of the

main ethnic people in Yen Bai

Arrive at Tu Le town, check in our hotel, you can spend around 2hrs to walk around field and village, to

enjoy the rice field, explore the life, the house, the culture…of Thai people. After trekking, we can enjoy the

Hot Spring – where villagers often gather together and take a bath everyday.

• ~5-7 Km trekking in 2hrs and 250 Km driving from Hanoi- Tu Le

Day 2: DAY 2: TU LE – MU CANG CHAI – TREKKING AROUND VILLAGES (B, L, D)

Stop At: Mu Cang Chai, National Road 32, Yen Bai 320000 Vietnam
8am: After breakfast, we will move to Mu Cang Chai. Run over the Khau Pha pass (one of the four greatest

passes in Northern Vietnam with 40km, connect Tu Le and Mu Cang Chai). Most scenic roads which offer a

lot of stops for picturing as the view point to see the Lim Mong, Lim Thai village or paragliding-point on the

top of this pass.

When arrive Mu Cang Chai, we will spend 1-2 hrs trek to Rasberry Hill –one of the most famous destination,

where have the round shape of rice terrace, all of them was built by human hand of H’mong people since

hundreds years ago. Leave Mam Xoi, we will have 3-4hrs to trek from Che Cu Nha village to Kim Noi village

– where we will sleep in the stilt house of Thai people.

On the trekking way, we will go up to the high mountain, pass to the Hmong village and waterfall in remote

area. Beside seeing the beauty of Rice field, you’ll guided how to plant rice, harvest rice or discover the

farm working of locals.Enjoy stunning landscapes along the way

Day 3: DAY 3: MU CANG CHAI – THAN UYEN – SAPA (B, L, D)

Stop At: Mu Cang Chai, National Road 32, Yen Bai 320000 Vietnam
Morning: Have breakfast and continue trekking a half day to trek from Che Cu Nha village to Kim Noi

village, where we will have lunch here.Enjoy stunning landscapes along the way, the stunning views of

countryside and nature, visit local villages, experience daily life of hill tribe people

Afternoon: The car will drive you to Sapa, pass over O Quy Ho pass, one of the four greatest passes in

Vietnam where you can enjoy fresh and cool air and nice landscapes. Arrive Sapa and stay at Hotel 3* in

Sapa town.

You will have free time to explore the Sapa food.

Approx: 3 hours walking/ 1-hour lunch/4 hours driving.

Day 4: DAY 4: SA PA – BAC HA (B,L,D)

Stop At: Bac Ha Market, Bac Ha 330000 Vietnam
After breakfast, we drive to Bac Ha. If it is a Sunday we can join to the market, one of the most colourful

markets in the north. You can enjoy the air of mountainous market- where many different ethnic groups

from the high mountain go down to market.

After lunch in a local restaurant, we will visit the palace of Hoang A Tuong, a curious mixture of baroque

and oriental, built in 1920 with the aid of the French. Then we will drive up a tiny mountain road with views

of the most amazing rice terraces, with villages dotted here. We reach the Ban Phung village and have a

chance to see the La Chi ethnic people, the ladies in black knee length skirts and jackets, with a little

delicate coloured embroidery, their heads wrapped in a strip of cloth knotted about their hair. They have a

truly hard life up in these mountains often carrying a heavy load in a bag from a band on their heads.

We will dinner and overnight at a hotel.

Day 5: DAY 5: BAC HA – HOANG SU PHI (B,L,D)

Stop At: Sapa Market, Dien Bien Phu Road, Sapa Vietnam
Upon leaving Bac Ha we set off on a full day journey through Sin Man to Hoang Su Phi

The rough but scenic route traverse a dense jungle before crossing over a pass and ping down to Sin Man.

This day is a real challenge for our driver as we travel by winding roads with many uphill and down hill

drives. Along the way we may encounter the Nung , Tay, Red Dao, Dao Ao Dai, La Chi and Co Lao, just

some of the many hill tribe groups who have settled there. Enjoy the beauty of Rice Terraces beside your

road.

Dinner on your own, overnight in Hoang Su Phi

Day 6: DAY 6: HOANG SU PHI – HA GIANG (B,L,D)

Stop At: Ha Giang Easy Rider, 148 Minh Khai, Ha Giang 310000 Vietnam
After breakfast, you will leave Phung village and drive down the steep winding road. You have the chance

to see the mountainous landscape, which is covered in thick forests broken up by many small tea farms and

the iconic, staircase-like rice terraces – the heritage of Vietnam. It is special that the road to Hoang Su Phi

district winds its way along high mountain passes, which offer many fantastic views of valleys below.

When arrive Ha Giang, you will stay overnight in a Tay stilt house

Day 7: DAY 7: HA GIANG – DONG VAN (B,L,D)

Stop At: Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, Sa Phin, Ha Giang 310000 Vietnam
Today, you will cencounter the spectacular Karst Plateau Geopark. Visit the famous Vuong’s Palace - a

grandiose two storey mansion built for a local Hmong king by the French. Set in a hidden valley near a

quite village, the building is a fascinating sight in such a remote region of the country. Spend 2-3hrs to visit

ethnic village of Hmong, LoLo & Giay people.

Day 8: DAY 8: DONG VAN – MEO VAC – HA GIANG (B,L,D)

Stop At: Dinh Vua Meo, Sa Phin, Dong Van Vietnam
After breakfast, Leave Dong Van, the car will transfer you to the place – where we will start to will climb up

15 km to the top of the Ma Pi Leng Pass, through a gigantic maze of limestone peaks, stone forests, the

rural Hmong villages in the valley before descending into the valley of Meo Vac. You will be disappointed as

it is the gateway to the best road trip in Vietnam. The road has been cut into the side of cliff face and far

below are the distant water of Nho Que river.

You will travel back to Ha Giang for dinner and stay overnight in a riverside bungalow.

Day 9: DAY 9: HA GIANG – HA NOI (B,L)

Stop At: Ha Giang Easy Rider, 148 Minh Khai, Ha Giang 310000 Vietnam
You will drive back to Hanoi from Ha Giang, taking a road less travelled. You will follow the river, snaking

from pass to pass through the hills of Central North Vietnam. You may find the locals are fascinated by you

for few tourists ever take that secret yet spectacular route. You will then pay a visit to Duong Lam Ancient

Villagewhere you can see hundreds of ancient houses. After a short stop for lunch in local restaurant, you

will return to your hotel in Hanoi.
