Mai Chau is a popular destination in Vietnam, we will still give you the chance to visit the main tourist sight but then go to the less touristic Pu Luong Nature Reserve. You will go on a pleasant trek to visit different villages where you may be the only Tourist in the whole area.   

Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau . (L, D) 140km:

Stop At: Mai Chau, Mai Chau, Hoa Binh Province
07:30 – 7:45 = Pick-up at Hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter to go to Mai Chau by Limousine bus.
09:00 = Short break in Luong Son (Outside of Hanoi).
11:00 = Stop at the local market of the Muong Ethnic Minority; enjoy the beautiful scenery of Thung Khe Pass (One of the 10 most beautiful passes in Vietnam).
12:00 = Arrive in Mai Chau Valley for lunch. (Vegetarian is available).
13:00 - 15:30 = Cycling to visit the traditional villages of the Thai Ethnic Minority and rice paddies to learn about their daily life and culture and the traditional way of weaving. Stop by a local stilt house for a tea break.
16:00 = Free time to walk in the small alleys around the Lodge or to relax by the swimming pool
19:00 = Dinner at the Lodge and free time.

Day 2: Pu Luong – Hanoi 200km. (B,L)

Stop At: Pu Luong Nature Reserve, Pho Doan, Thanh Hoa 448100 Vietnam
07:00 = Have breakfast in the lodge and check out. (Luggage will be stored at the homestay)
07:30 – 08:30 = Board the van to Pu Luong
08:30 – 11:30 = Trek following the small roads through the terrace rice fields and cross the stream to visit remote rural villages of Black Thai Minorities to learn about the local people in Pu Luong. Explore Doi Cave (Bat cave) of Kho Muong village, this is the largest cave in Pu Luong. (Depending on the weather condition)
12:00 – 13:00 = Lunch at the Eco Garden Restaurant.
13:00 = Free time to relax in the Infinity pool or walking around the village.
14:00 = board the van to go Mai Chau to catch the Limousine bus to go to Hanoi.
17:00 = Soft break on the way.
19:00 = Arrive in Hanoi old quarter drop you off at your hotel.
