Day 1: Hit the ground running!

Your experienced tour guide will be waiting to collect you from the airport. We will transport you directly to your hotel in our comfortable air-conditioned van. You’ll instantly get to experience the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City, spotting other vehicles and pedestrians amongst waves of scooters. Your guide can offer local knowledge about your surroundings as we travel through the centre. They will also give some local recommendations for places to eat on your first night in our great city.

Day 2: Experience the real Ho Chi Minh

Stop At: Ho Thi Ky Flower Market, Ho Thi Ky Ward 1, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City 700000 Vietnam
On this guided tour you’ll experience Vietnam’s rich tapestry of history, culture and lifestyles. We’ll venture to ‘every corner’ of Ho Chi Minh City. First, we’ll stroll through the city’s pretty Ho Thi Ky Flower Market then take a cyclo through some bustling local markets.

Ho Chi Minh´s temples offer an essential insight into the beliefs and customs of the Vietnamese, and this beautiful temple is no exception! This National Architectural Heritage Site, apart from housing beautiful art pieces and antiquities, gives an important insight into Vietnamese folk religions for locals and tourists alike.

Stop At: War Remnants Museum, 28 Vo Van Tan Ward 6, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City 700000 Vietnam
Next up, prepare for the emotional impact of the War Remnants Museum. This breathtaking display is like no other war museum. Offering a rare insight into the civilian impact of the Vietnamese-American war, the multi-layered displays are hard-hitting but a must-see. The Requiem gallery is the gem of this Museum, where you can see historic photos taken by famed international war photographers such as Tim Page or Larry Burrows. This poignant display is bound to stay with you long after you leave the museum.

Our next stop is Independence Palace. This important landmark in Ho Chi Minh city acts as a fascinating time capsule. The site of the end of the Vietnam War, Independence Palace houses secret rooms, a war bunker, and even the original tanks that were used to seize the palace!

Stop At: Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, 01 Cong xa Paris Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City 700000 Vietnam
Enjoy a walking tour of all of Ho Chi Minh´s most important sites! The Notre-Dame cathedral and Central Post Office are stunning architectural feats in the centre of the city. The neo-Romanesque Notre-Dame church, built by the French, is a striking catholic meeting point in a largely Buddhist society while the classic Central Post Office, built between 1886 and 1891, is a striking remnant of past times. The halls are lined with historic maps of South Vietnam, Saigon and Cholon. These two beautiful buildings are popular with tourists as they offer a striking insight into the cultural and historical influences at play in Vietnam. From the Post Office, our guide will show you the historic CIA headquarters and tell you the story of the last U.S Helicopter flying out of Saigon in 1975, as well as the last U.S Operation in Vietnam – Frequent Wind. We´ll stroll leisurly along Dong Khoi street to visit the very beautiful Opera House and City Hall.

Day 3: Cu Chi - Ben Dinh Tunnels followed by a Street Food Tour!

Stop At: Cu Chi Tunnels, Phu Hiep TL15 Phu Hiep, Ho Chi Minh City 700000 Vietnam
This morning we will explore the Cu Chi tunnels to learn how Viet Cong fighters survived in this ingenious underground labyrinth during the Vietnam War. En route we will make a pitstop at a local rubber plantation and learn firsthand all about the rubber tapping process. Later in Ho Chi Minh City, we will take in the evening atmosphere of the city as we stop to taste the best of the local delicacies at four hand-picked traditional eateries. Be prepared to try some delicious and unique food.

Day 4: Tan Phong Island & Overnight stay in Can Tho City

Stop At: Cai Be Floating Market, Cai Be Vietnam
Sit back and relax this morning as our sampan takes you along serene canals of the mighty Mekong River. These hidden waterways are engulfed in lush vegetation and local villages where you can admire the colors and culture alike. While on our travels we will visit the secluded Tan Phong island. Here we can stop-off at a tasty fruit orchard, experience the enchanting music of Vietnam and take a guided bicycle tour of this marvelous island. Later we’ll head to the Vinh Long Pier and market where you can see even more of the specialties Mekong has to offer. Finally we will head to Can Tho to reach your accommodation. We’ll have the chance to relax and explore the beautiful nightlife and tasty cuisine of the night market.

Day 5: Floating Markets, Temples and more!

Stop At: Cai Rang Floating Market, 46 Hai Ba Trung Near Cai Rang Bridge, Can Tho 900000 Vietnam
We have another great day in store for you today! We’ll head straight out onto the water on our own private boat and head to the biggest floating market in the whole of Asia, Cai Rang! You will get to experience local produce being sold first hand from boat to boat. After the market we will head back to the hotel for some breakfast before checking out and taking a scenic drive to Chau Doc. Here we will check out Ba Chua Xu temple, at the foot of the Sam mountain before taking a Xe Loi trip through some local villages before finishing up in Ba Sa fish square.

Day 6: Cruise into Cambodia!

Pass By: Chau Doc Market, Bach Dang, Chau Phu A, Chau Doc Vietnam
You certainly won’t be disappointed with our final day! We will begin by boarding a public speedboat run by Victoria Hotels and Resorts from Chau Doc where you will say goodbye to your guide. Then you’ll speed along the Hau River to Vinh Xuong international border for Vietnam/Cambodia. After immigration we’ll continue our fast cruise along the Mekong River and arrive in Phnom Penh. We will head straight to Sisowath Quay for around 1.00pm.
