Sycamore Cove Trail Running Tour

Every guide on our team has developed an intimate knowledge of our national forest and can offer you an in-depth history to all the areas we run in. Originally owned by George Vanderbilt, Pisgah National Forest is the oldest of its kind in the eastern United States and holds deep historical relevance among several generations.

Though different than a hiking tour, our running tours accommodate any pace - even if you may consider yours more of a hike. It's also expected that we will stop several times for photos along the way.

Itinerary

Less than 5 minutes from the entrance to Pisgah National Forest, the Sycamore Cove Trail Running Tour is a great option for novice trail runners looking to stay active on their visit to town. It’s also great if you’re short on time or looking to sneak away for an hour or two in the afternoon. Many locals even head here before or after work for a quick jog.

One of the most affordable guided adventures you’ll find in town, this running tour starts at just 3.5 miles and explores an array of new-growth forests and quiet mountain streams. If you’re looking for longer mileage, there are plenty of options for more. One our favorite variations is just shy of 4.5 miles. We'll accommodate any pace and adjust the route depending on your preference.

The route also passes through Davidson River Campground if you’re planning an overnight trip there! Afterward, we often head back to Ecusta Brewing for a post run brew and food truck options.
