Hillwood Estate Museum & Gardens Admission Ticket

Hillwood was the home of Marjorie Merriweather Post, a pioneering businesswoman, engaged citizen, generous philanthropist, and distinguished collector. As the heir to the Postum Cereal Company, later General Foods, Marjorie (1887-1973) was among the wealthiest women of her time. She dedicated her intense focus to collecting French and Russian art, as well as making significant charitable contributions throughout her life. In 1955 Marjorie purchased Hillwood as her spring and fall residence. She spent two years renovating and expanding Hillwood, creating a home that would suit her lifestyle while also serving as a museum of her extraordinary art collection. Opened as a public institution in 1977, Hillwood's allure stems from the equally fascinating parts that make up the whole. From the captivating life of Marjorie Post to the exquisitely maintained mansion and gardens, the experience of Hillwood outshines even the Fabergé Eggs.
