Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam Experience

On this excursion we will be visiting the west side of the Grand Canyon, land of the Hualapai natives. Passing through the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead: the largest artificial reservoir in North America, the Mojave Desert, and seeing different volcanic formations in Arizona. We will also pass through the town of "Dolan Spring", a classic of the "Far West", and through the impressive forest of "Joshua Tree". Finally arriving at the Grand Canyon West that consists of two viewpoints: the "Mirador del Águila" where the famous Skywalk and the "Mirador del Guano" are located. Always accompanied by your Spanish speaking guide. On this same excursion you have the option of adding activities to your tour, such as:

The Skywalk: A 22 meter long, transparent horseshoe shaped walkway in the shape of a horseshoe.

Helicopter overflight: A 12-15 minute overflight inside the Canyon.Helicopter descent + Boat: Helicopter descent to the bottom of the Canyon on the edge of the Colorado River Duration: 45 Minutes

Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Its construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over one hundred lives. Originally known as Boulder Dam from 1933, it was officially renamed Hoover Dam, for President Herbert Hoover, by a joint resolution of Congress in 1947

O rio Colorado (em inglês: Colorado River ) é um curso de água dos Estados Unidos e do México. É o rio que atravessa o Grand Canyon.

O rio Colorado corta a região mais árida da América do Norte. A sua bacia hidrográfica tem 632.000 km², e vai desde as montanhas Rochosas do Colorado até o golfo da Califórnia, no oceano pacifico e no México, passando por cinco estados americanos. Ao todo, tem 2320 km de extensão e é um dos rios mais longos da América do Norte.

Cerca de 80 km antes da foz, forma um pequeno trecho da fronteira Estados Unidos-México. Em seu curso alto e médio, o rio segue por um terreno acidentado, atravessando vários cânions, como o Grand Canyon.

Recebe as águas do rio Kanab, rio Paria, rio Escalante, rio San Rafael, rio Pequeno Colorado, rio San Juan e rio Dolores, que cortam transversalmente os cânions. No curso inferior, no Arizona e na Califórnia, percorre a depressão de Salton, região desértica que se prolonga por 275 km até a foz.
