Lord Leycester Hospital has been a home for service veterans since 1475. Visitors will be welcomed by one of the current residents and introduced to the magnificent set of medieval buildings that is their home. Visitors will then be free to enjoy their visit at their own pace following either the directions on the free guide sheet, or follow an audio guide on their own mobile/cell phone via the free app. Lunch and afternoon tea together with lighter refreshments will be available during opening hours in The Brethrens Kitchen and the two gardens offer a relaxed and peaceful haven in which to conclude a visit. There is also a small souvenir and gift shop in the ticket office where the will always be one of the resident brothers happy to answer any questions visitors may have.

Our guests will visit the 12th century chapel of St James, the 14th century Guild Hall, Great Hall and galleried court yard, The Brethren's Kitchen tea rooms, where food has been prepared and served continuously for over 500 years and our two gardens. They will also meet the resident Brothers, all ex servicemen, all of who both live and work in these beautiful surroundings.
