Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala

Pass By: Kampala Fair, 25 Bukoto Street (next to Alliance Française), Kampala Uganda
Arrival at Entebbe Airport - Uganda

A warm welcome on arrival from our Signature representative who will bring you to enjoy some refreshment and to check in at your hotel, The Birai Hotel or Mestil Hotel for a little more luxury, to relax and revivify after your journey. We will have a short briefing about our adventures to come after which you are free to relax.

Day 2: Kibale National Park

Pass By: Kibale National Park, Kasese Uganda
Kampala - Kibale National Park

After breakfast this morning our driver guide will meet you for the drive south via Fort Portal through verdant countryside, passing traditional homesteads and farms. Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. In the afternoon we will pay a visit to The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary to search for smaller mammals and primates. Look out for the rare red colobus monkey and the sitatunga. The guided 4.5km circular trail through the swamp is also one of the best guided bird trails in East Africa as well as offering a realistic opportunity to see up to six different primate species in a space of a few hours. We make eventually to our select lodgings, The Primate Lodge (or Chimpanzee Guesthouse), in the early evening where we can relax in anticipation of dinner and our night's rest.

Day 3: Kibale National park

Full Day in Kibale National Park

Today is a day for adventurous forest walks. In the morning we go to the forest to search for the chimpanzees, also to see are the red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and many other primates in Kibale Forest. The walk in the forest may last for the whole morning, returning only for lunch and then later we can take you for another local but interesting walk in Bigodi Village, we will visit the swamp, known for its rich diversity of birds, butterflies, and rare plant species. Dinner and overnight at The Primate Lodge (or the other option listed) where delectation in dining awaits us and our luxurious rooms to harbor our rest.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Pass By: Queen Elizabeth National Park, 410 kilometers from Kampala, Kasese Uganda
Transfer From Kibale National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today we make our way to The Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Ruwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey. A game drive en route may be rewarded with views of lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, hyena and a variety of antelope species. In the afternoon, enjoy the unique 2 hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colourful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. We lodge this night at The Simba Safari Camp (or Mweya Safari Lodge).

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park

We undertake two game drives today here at The Queen Elizabeth National Park, a park made up of a diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Game drives in this park, with the massive Rwenzoris as a backdrop provides excellent opportunities to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi and bush buck. These two game drives and the boat trip are a memorable method of discovering a vast array of Ugandan wildlife. In the afternoon, we enjoy the unique 2 hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. Day 6: Bwindi National Park

Pass By: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Buhoma Kanungu and Kisoro, Kabale Uganda
Transfer From Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi

This morning we have the option of either a forest walk in Maramagambo or a chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge before we head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The forest is famous for the blue lake, unique trees, and bat caves while the Kyambura Gorge is famous for its views and wild chimpanzees. One can choose to go in and search for the chimpanzees in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve which is a beautiful gorge completely covered with tropical rainforest (this option comes at an extra fee). By late morning we will depart for Bwindi with packed lunch, arriving at the home of the endangered mountain gorillas early in the evening checking in to our select lodge, The Buhoma Lodge (or Mahogany Springs or Buhoma Community Rest Camp) where our dinner and nights rest awaits us.

Day 7: Bwindi National Park

Pass By: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Buhoma Kanungu and Kisoro, Kabale Uganda
Gorilla Trekking

An early breakfast then its off, with our packed lunch stowed, for a briefing on our days gorilla trekking. This magical experience is indeed a highlight of any safari experience. Today you will meet with the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable National park! Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas and so you must be physically fit. Mammals recorded include the endangered mountain gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest log and others. This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas. The time taken and the terrain varies according to the movements of this marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact. We lodge tonight at the same accommodations as the previous night.

Day 8: Kampala

Transfer From Bwindi to Kampala

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe via Kampala stopping at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers en route where you will able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations. There will also be time to stop at the equator for photographs. You arrive Entebbe in the early evening. We dine and relax tonight at The Birai Hotel (or The Mestil Hotel for a more luxurious experience)

Day 9: Kampala-Departing Day

The airport transfer for today will be given to you by our friendly drivers at the time of your flight. If the airport transfer is late, then we shall also offer a city tour around Kampala’s famous and historical sites then drop you off to the airport in time for your flight and see you off.
