This 6 days safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park and the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s most celebrated national parks, with over 100 species of mammals and more than 606 types of birds dwelling within. Serried ranges of hippos, crocodiles, African elephants, tree-climbing lions, thunderous waterfalls, rhinos, among others will fulfill your African safari dream. These parks also have spectacular sceneries including Crater Lakes and rolling savannah plains overlooking the snowcapped Ruwenzori Mountain ranges. You will enjoy game drives, boat trips and nature walks, not forgetting the Equator, City walk and the very fascinating Rhino trek on foot!

Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up, City Tour, Equator-Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Stop At: Uganda Equator, Masaka Road, Kayabwe Uganda
After your meet and greet with your driver guide at the Airport/Hotel/Apartment, you’ll go on a city tour of Uganda’s capital Kampala visiting various sites and attractions including the ever busy Nakasero Market, the Independence Monument, the grand Gadhafi Mosque, and the Uganda museum.
Depart Kampala for Queen Elizabeth National Park, making a stopover for a water experiment at the Equator and another at Igongo Cultural center for lunch.
Proceed to the Park arriving in the evening. Enjoy an evening game drive as you head to your accommodation; check in, freshen up and enjoy a dinner at the lodge.

Day 2: Game Drive, Launch Trip

Stop At: Queen Elizabeth National Park, 410 kilometers from Kampala, Kasese Uganda
After an early breakfast in the early morning, head out for a morning Game drive. During this expedition expect to encounter with animals such as the Buffaloes, Antelopes, Elephants, Warthogs, and Baboons, among others, and if lucky, lions and leopards too.
Return to the lodge and relax as you wait for lunch.
After lunch, you will drive to the heart of the park at Mweya peninsular where you will set off for a launch trip on the Kazinga channel where Lakes Edward and Gorge meet. This is yet another fascinating adventure that one should not dare to miss out on the trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
For the birders, this Launch trip offers a great chance to see a wide range of bird species such as the Martial Eagle, Black Ramped Fly catcher, African skimmer, African Broadbill, Verreaux’s Eagle Owl among others.
It is also at the beautiful Kazinga Channel where you will see a serried ranges of hippos, and crocodiles at the shoreline together with numerous wildlife species coming down to bathe and drink some water and the mighty Elephants lingering around.
Return to the lodge and freshen up, relax and wait for dinner at the lodge and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Kasenyi Fishing Village

Stop At: Queen Elizabeth National Park, 410 kilometers from Kampala, Kasese Uganda
After a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a game drive as you head to the village. Visit Kasenyi Fishing Village and the locals around as they go about their day to day life.
Return to the lodge for a late lunch, then relax at the lodge as you leisurely wait for your dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Kasenyi Fishing Village-Transfer to Murchison Falls NP

Stop At: Murchison Falls National Park, Murchison Falls P.O.Box 455, Masindi Uganda
After an early breakfast at the lodge, depart for Murchison enjoying the scenery and the communities enroute. Make a lunch stopover, and then proceed to the park. Enjoy a game drive as you head to the lodge. Relax as you wait for your evening Game drive to view the nocturnal wildlife. Return to the lodge after the drive for a late dinner and an overight stay.

Day 5: Game Drive, Boat cruise to the foot of the falls

Stop At: Nile Delta Cruises - Murchison Falls, Paraa vanaf Paraa river crossing, Murchison Falls National Park Uganda
After an early cup of coffee at 6:00am, you will go for an early morning game drive to the rolling plains where you have high chances of viewing Lions, Giraffes, Hartebeests, Buffaloes and Elephants as well as many other mammals in the park. For the birders, these areas support the Secretary Bird, Black Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny and Marshal Eagles Carmine and Swallow Tailed Bee-Eaters, to name but a few. This is a beautiful drive across Borassus Palm Forest and grassland savannah down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north to the Sudan.
In the afternoon, go on a boat trip to the foot of Murchison Falls where the Nile thunders through a small 7-meter gap, or down river to the delta where the Nile empties into Lake Albert. This is an experience not to be missed! The banks of the Nile are home to many species. You may see huge Nile Crocodiles, big Pods of Hippos and other wildlife that may come down to drink from the river.
Return to the lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Top of the Falls-Rhino Trekking-Transfer to Kampala

Stop At: Kampala, Kampala, Central Region
After breakfast, have an early drive to the Top of Murchison Falls where you can have a close look in to the gorge where the Nile squeezes in to a 7 meter gorge dropping 40 meters. The falls are spectacular and thunderous with a beautiful rainbow displayed on sunny days.
Depart the park and drive to Kampala making a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for lunch and a Rhino Trekking experience. Thereafter, depart for a nonstop drive to Kampala.
