6 Day Signature Primate Safari Bwindi Np And Kibale Np

This Signature six-day safari allows us to explore two of the most popular parks in Uganda, Bwindi and Kibale National Parks. We can encounter a broad range of wildlife and breathtaking sceneries. A highlight of this trip is the experience of gorilla tracking.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bwindi National Park

Pass By: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Buhoma Kanungu and Kisoro, Kabale Uganda
Depart from Kampala

After pickup by our Signature representative we will undertake the drive to Mbarara (283km from Kampala) via Masaka. We make a first stop over at Equator crossing for snacks and photography. Lunch break is at Regency Hotel or Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, drive to Bwindi National Park. This is a lush highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and birds, valleys, hills and swamps filled with papyrus. You can also spend your afternoon having a walk around the village and see the local communities living around the park. Dinner and overnight are at either The Gorilla Resort Uganda Safari Lodge or alternatively, The Mantana Tented Camp (High End Luxurious Accommodation), or Lake Kitandara Tented Camp/ Buhoma Homestead (Medium class accommodation) or the Community Banda’s (Low budget/basic accommodation).

Day 2: Bwindi National Park

Bwindi National Park

An early breakfast then its off, with our packed lunch stowed, for a briefing on our days gorilla trekking. This magical experience is indeed a highlight of any safari experience. Today you will meet with the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable National park! Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas and so you must be physically fit. Mammals recorded include the endangered mountain gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest log and others. This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas. The time taken and the terrain varies according to the movements of this marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact. We lodge tonight at the same accommodations as the previous night.

Day 3: Kibale National Park

Kibale National Park

After our breakfast we head out to drive to Kibale National Park via Kibale, having our lunch on the way and arriving late in the afternoon for relaxation. Kibale National Park harbours the greatest variety and concentration of primates found anywhere in East Africa. It is an extensive National Park, protecting a large block of rainforest that offers some excellent forest for bird watching. Birds and primates combined with easy access, a good infrastructure and a variety of interesting activities make this forest ideal for primate watching safaris to Uganda. Many of the facilities are community-based, thus providing the local community with the necessary revenue to keep their interest focused on the long-term protection of the area. We dine and overnight at the Ndali Safari Lodge (Luxury) or the Tree House at Kanyankyu Ecological Centre (Budget).

Day 4: Kibale National Park

Kibale National Park Wildlife Viewing

After breakfast, we go to the forest for primate viewing. The activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning and spend half day searching for chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Red-Colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest. The guide will provide detailed explanations about the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters. After lunch, we visit Bigodi swamp for another beautiful encounter with rich flora and fauna. 

Dinner and overnight at the Ndali Safari Lodge (Luxury) or the tree house at Kanyankyu ecological center (Budget). Full board meals.

Day 5: Drive back to Kampala

Pass By: Kampala Fair, 25 Bukoto Street (next to Alliance Française), Kampala Uganda
Relax in the morning and we drive back to Kampala via Fort Portal afterward with lunch en route. We arrive in Kampala early in the evening and guests can decide which activity they want to undertake such as a city tour and shopping. we spend this night at The Hotel Africana where an excellent dinner and comfortable quarters await to harbour our rest.

Day 6: Kampala-Departing Day

Pass By: Kampala Fair, 25 Bukoto Street (next to Alliance Française), Kampala Uganda
After breakfast we transfer to Entebbe airport, memories and memory cards filled with the sights and sounds of the wilds of Uganda, for your onward flight.
