3-Day Lake Mburo National Park Tour

This tour specifically takes you to Lake Mburo National Park which is the only Uganda National Park that contains an entire Lake and the nearest park to the capital city. Lake Mburo National Park in particular is characterized by varied landscape, of open savanna and acacia woodland, seasonal and permanent swamps, forest and open water. The Park is also home to a number of wild game. For instance the Burchell’s Zebra, Eland, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Impala. Lake Mburo National Park also offers a very good spot for bird watching.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo

Stop At: Lake Mburo National Park, Mbarara Uganda
To begin with, this safari takes you from Entebbe Airport to Lake Mburo National Park, known for sculptured landscape with rolling grassy hills and its idyllic lake shores with a variety of different species of mammals and birds and the home of Zebras and Impala herds.

As you go to Lake Mburo, we shall have a stopover at the Equator; we shall stop and enjoy a visit to the equator which runs through Uganda. Many visitors love taking photos at the Equator sign post.

Day 2: Morning Safari drive-Boat Cruise in the afternoon

Stop At: Lake Mburo National Park, Mbarara Uganda
After your early morning breakfast, our driver guide picks you up for the early game drive. Explore the major game spotting. Afterwarrds, you will taken back to Leopard rest Camp for your lunch and some relaxation for an indefinitely short time. Next, we set out for the afternoon Boat Ride which will get you to come face to face with the flora and fauna of the lake. And along the bank, you will also see many animals that come to the water especially in the dry season. Also when it comes to the birds, you will view the malachite kingfishers, African Fish eagles, blue headed weavers, Rufuos long tailed starlings, the pied kingfishers, hammerkobs, Herons, pelicans, the rare shoebill as well as the cormorants. After the Boat ride you will be transferred back to the Lodge for relaxation.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Leopard Rest Camp.

Day 3: Nature walk/hikes-Transfer back to Kampala

Stop At: Lake Mburo National Park, Mbarara Uganda
Early in the morning after your breakfast you will checkout and join other walkers followed by the ranger guide. The guided walk leads to the salt lick with most animals attracted to the salty rocks. The walks on the western side of this lake usually begin at 7am and takes 2 hours. Along the way, there are plenty of animals including the hyenas,which are returning to their dens as well as the hippos coming from the lake. The hikes that go through the woodland that give you a chance to see the forest birds and mammals and the walk to the top of the hill will reward you with the spectacular view of 9 of the region’s 14 lakes. Finally, you will be transfered back to Entebbe Airport.
