This trip is ideal for some one in Kampala or any part of Uganda with two free days to dedicate to nature photography/ Safari in Murchison Falls National Park. The park hosts 76 mammals and 451 bird species respectively. Murchison Falls National Park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45m through a narrow gorge, creating the dramatic Murchison Falls, the centerpiece of the park marking the final event in an 80km stretch of rapids. From the falls, the placid river whose banks team with wildlife flows across the rift valley floor into Lake Albert. Notable visitors to the park include Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt, and Ernest Hemingway, Kanye West and wife Kim Kardashian and several British royals. You will do a boat cruise on the Nile and a morning game drive in search for big cats (lions and leopard), elephants, buffalos, hippos and water birds among other wild life.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls for an afternoon boat trip to the bottom of the falls.

Murchison Falls National Park lies at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley, where the sweeping Bunyoro escarpment tumbles into vast, palm-dotted savanna. The park hosts 76 mammals and 451 bird species respectively. Murchison Falls National Park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45m through a narrow gorge, creating the dramatic Murchison Falls, the centerpiece of the park marking the final event in an 80km stretch of rapids. Day 2: Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park

Stop At: Murchison Falls National Park, Murchison Falls P.O.Box 455, Masindi Uganda
Murchison Falls National Park is bisected by the Rive Nile and is composed of woodland, wetland, savannah as well as tropical forest. The game drives are done in the savanna plains on the northern bank up to the delta where the Nile pours its waters in Lake Albert. Among the mammals to look out for are: lions, Cape buffalo, Uganda kob, Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants and Rothschild’s giraffe. Murchison host the biggest number of the Rothschild’s giraffe species in the world.

After the game drive, you have lunch and drive back to Kampala.
