10 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Wildlife Viewing and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari

This Uganda Safari combines Rhino Tracking, Boat Cruise on River Nile to view wildlife, chimpanzee trekking, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Wildlife viewing in two of East Africa's top National Parks. You will visit Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

Pass By: Entebbe Botanic Gardens, Berkely Rd, Entebbe Uganda
Arrival at Entebbe Airport where you will be welcomed by a Primate Vacations staff and transferred to your Hotel where you relax and prepare to start your safari the next day.

Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

Stop At: Paraa Masindi, Murchison Falls National Park Uganda
After breakfast, you will drive through Kampala City center en route to Murchison Falls. It’s a long trip, we will make two stops for snacks, lunch and also make a stop at the Rhino Sanctuary for guided tour of Uganda's only Rhino Park, the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will get to Murchison Falls late afternoon.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park Tour

Stop At: Paraa Masindi, Murchison Falls National Park Uganda
After an early morning cup of tea, transfer to the northern section popular known as paraa for your morning game drive that will provide you an opportunity of spotting wild game that may include, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos and if lucky cats such as lions and leopards. You will do the top-of-the-falls guided hike. You will return to the lodge for a lunch break.

After lunch, you will proceed to the pier for your two hour boat cruise to the bottom of the falls to see how river Nile squeezes itself in a narrow gorge before exploding out producing an experience of a lifetime

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park

Stop At: Kibale National Park, Kasese Uganda
Early in the morning we will leave for Kibale National Park. We will pass close to Lake Albert: on a clear day the view from the top of the Albert rift is spectacular. In the afternoon we will arrive at the lodge, where we will stay sleeping with the noises of the tropical rainforest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

Stop At: Kibale National Park, Kasese Uganda
After Breakfast, we will go for chimpanzee trekking. Our experienced staff and game rangers will guide you in the search for chimpanzees. The Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale isn’t about chimps alone, keep an eye out for other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabeys along with l’Hoest’s, red colobus, red-tailed and blue monkeys. The guides will share the secrets of the forest’s flora and fauna, ensuring that the trail is both informative and enjoyable.

Day 6: Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Stop At: Queen Elizabeth National Park, 410 kilometers from Kampala, Kasese Uganda
You will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning after Breakfast. Your tour of Queen Elizabeth National Park starts with a visit to the Katwe explosion crater that is located in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is believed that this significant feature came into existence as a result of violent eruptions that took place approximately 8000 – 10,000 years ago. We will take an extremely rewarding 27 km crater drive to Katwe that will offer you a remarkable memory of your safari in Uganda.

The communities have got rich traditions and their lifestyle is centered on the lakes’ natural offerings. You will learn the local processes of salt extraction and how they arrange their mining areas. The crater drive track offers impressive scenic views and the extending to the wider savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth. The views of the overlooking Rwenzori Mountains dubbed the mountains of the moon also add spice to remarkable memories for the safari.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park Tour

Stop At: Queen Elizabeth National Park, 410 kilometers from Kampala, Kasese Uganda
After breakfast you will go on an early morning Game Drive on the Kasenyi Track, viewing a large fishing area. The Game Drive will take 2-4 hours. We will also tour Kikorongo, where you will encounter both wet and dry Crater Lakes. You will see Lions, various Antelope species, Elephants, Hyenas, Leopards and Buffaloes.

In the afternoon, we will go for a two hour boat cruise down the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. The cruise takes you through the highest population of Hippos and you will see a profusion of animals on the water shores. This boat cruise rewards you with a great opportunity to take photos, watch birds and see the water animals. You will return to the lodge after the end of the day's activities.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Stop At: Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda
After breakfast, enjoy an en route game drive through Kabale and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in South Western Uganda. This journey takes you through the green rolling hills of Uganda with banana and tea plantations and good scenic views. Lunch will be served at the hotel on your way to Bwindi. You will arrive in at the lodge in Bwindi in the late afternoon.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Stop At: Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda
After an early breakfast, we will head to the Headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for an orientation plus meeting the guides as well as separation into the groups basing on which gorilla group you are to be trekking. From there you will set off for your thrilling experience of the Gorillas. Hiking within this mysterious and wonderful forest offers quite a lot to see as you make your way to see the Mountain Gorillas. Look out for additional primates, butterflies, mammals and birds.

The trekking will entail thorough climbing before you come face to face with the Mountain Gorillas, watching them only a few meters away. You will see the baby with the mothers, the gorillas partaking their every day routine just right in front of you. Because of tourists like you, we have worked with communities to protect the Gorillas. Our Fair Tourism model supports communities around Bwindi to protect the Gorillas. You will personally see how they are thriving within the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

After breakfast, head back to Entebbe arriving in time for your flight. You will stopovers in Mbarara for lunch and another stopover at the Equator crossing for coffee.
