This walking tour combines history, vibrant culture, and incredible cuisine of Izmir in a single walking tour. Participants will get to know the current and ancient centers of Izmir, join in the day-to-day life of the locals through the narrow streets of Kemeralti, visit the well preserved ruins of Agora and all throughout the tour, sample excellent examples of Izmir's interpretation of the Mediterranean Cuisine.

Through the tour participants will be accompanied by a professional tour guide who is also an expert in the culinary arts and history of Izmir.

Stop At: Saat Kulesi (Clock Tower), Kuleli Sokak, Izmir Turkey

We start our adventure here, by the historic clock tower. Before we start walking you will learn about the history and importance of the clock tower

Stop At: Kemeralti Market, Anafartalar Cd, Izmir 35250 Turkey

One of the largest open air markets in the world. As we walk through the market we will sample from local food shops and stalls.

Stop At: Agora Open Air Museum, Iki Cesmelik Mah. 816 Sok. No:16 Konak Merkez, Konak, Izmir Turkey

The ruins of Agora mark the ancient center of the city. Dating back to 4th century B.C Agora of the ancient Smyrna (Izmir) was the commercial center. Surprisingly well preserved arches illustrate the scale of the ancient city. We will also make a well deserved tea stop here. On our way to Kizlaragasi we will visit a local restaurant for lunch. You will have a chance to taste excellent food and also observe how locals of Izmir break for lunch.

This 18th Century Bazaar was once the trading and commercial center of Ottoman Izmir. Today mostly souvenir and antique shops occupy most shops. Nearby we will make a stop at the most famous cold cut meat shop in Izmir. The bazaar is surrounded by several traditional coffee houses, and we will make a sand brewed coffee stop here as well
