You will be driven down to visit the gorge itself and learn what Mary and Louis Leakey discovered about early hominin remains. Go through the information board on site.
Arrange in advance for a member of staff to take you to active dig sites. Olduvai Gorge is the focus of a number of ongoing studies. If you are lucky, chat with scientists between June and October.
