Itinerary

Day 1: Sigiriya

Stop At: Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, Kandy - Jaffna Highway, Dambulla 21100 Sri Lanka
THE UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dambulla Cave Temple, has been used by Buddhist monks since 2 nd century B.C. The first temple was built the 01 st century B.C by King Walagamba. The site contains five temples built within a very large cave at different periods by different Sinhalese Kings. In their entirety form a magnificent art gallery of statues and colorful paintings.

Day 2: kandy

Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
The UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sigiriya Rock Fortress was founded at the capital in 5 th century. The city contains high ramparts, deep moats, landscaped gardens, the famous paintings and lion entrance to the citadel. Represents the very best of ancient Sinhalese engineering, architecture, landscape gardening, hydrology, painting and sculpture. Furthermore, there is ample archaeological evidence of these were pre historic settlement in this area. Furthermore, the cave shelters at the foot hills of the Sigiriya rock have been used by Buddhist monks from 3 rd century B.C.

Stop At: Temple of the Tooth, Sri Dalada Maligawa, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
The crown jewel of the Kandy City is the famed Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Sacred Relic. The Sacred Relic of Gautama Buddha was previously preserved in Kalinga, India. The Kalinga King Guhasiva in the 4th century AD sent the Sacred Tooth Relic to Sri Lanka with Prince Danta and Princess Hemamala. The current Sri Daladha Maligawa was reconstructed by King Weera Parakrama Narendra Singha in the early 18c. The moat and octagonal structure were added by King Sri Wickrama Rajasingha in early 19c. Sri Daladha Maligawa is an art and history lover’s paradise. The temple is built by using classical Kandyan architecture.

Stop At: Kandy, Kandy, Kandy District, Central Province
Kandy Lake, is an artificial lake in the heart of the hill City of Kandy, built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe next to the Temple of the Sacred Relic. The lake is charming and peaceful which is ideal for a leisurely walk. The View Point is regarded as one of the highest points in Kandy, it is an absolutely breathtaking spot which gives a magnificent view of the city. Kandy Municipal Market hall is a public municipal market which is close to the City Centre. The market is spread over two floors with a small courtyard in the center with landscaped gardens. The market is an ideal place to see local way of life, with colorful fruit & vegetable sections.

Day 3: Kandy

Stop At: Kandy, Kandy, Kandy District, Central Province
This trekking will be conducted in a rural mountainous area in the Kandy district with unique attractions such as woodlands, tea, spice, tropical fruit trees and terraced rice fields. Visitors will be able to observe the authentic village life and interact with locals, bathe in a stream and enjoy a traditional Sinhalese lunch.

Day 4: Ella

Stop At: Ramboda Waterfall, Pussellawa Sri Lanka
The 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka is located in Pussellawa. This waterfall is about 109m high and the waterfall has two main drops. It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya.

Stop At: Mackwoods Tea Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive Queen Elizabeth Plaza, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Visiting a tea plantation is an unforgettable experience. Visitors can enjoy these wonderful places to chill out and breathe in the fresh mountain air as well as great views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Tea plucking is an initial step in the tea making process. It is a delicate act that is artfully done by hand in order to eventually produce the finest quality tea. If desired, the visitor can join the tea puckers, collecting unforgettable memories.

Day 5: Tissamaharama

Stop At: Nine Arch Bridge, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
Located in Ella, the Nine Arch Bridge is one of the most iconic bridges in Sri Lanka. It’s a stone railway bridge, was built by Mr. Appuhami (Sri Lankan Architect) with British engineers during the colonial period. Its Surrounded by picturesque views of lush rolling hills. 98 Acres View Point (Little Sri Padya) is also called “Little Adam’s Peak”. From the top of this hill, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the surroundings and the Ella Gap. Guests can also enjoy in Sri Lanka’s first ever mega dual zip-line, located amidst the lush tea bushes, at the foothills of the viewpoint. The two-wire zip-line stretches for more than half a kilometer slides at max 80kmph and offers a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful hills of the island.

Stop At: Ravana Ella Falls, Ella-Wellawaya Road, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
This waterfall measures approximately 25m in height and cascade from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. Although it is comparatively shorter than most waterfalls, it has a wide flow of water and is very impressive.

Stop At: Yala National Park Sri Lanka
It is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. It lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals, elephants, deer, wild water buffalo, crocodiles, leopards and aquatic birds. Furthermore, Yala National Park has a variety of ecosystems including moist monsoon, dry monsoon, semi deciduous, thorn, grasslands, fresh water and marine wetlands, and sandy beaches. The national park is situated in the dry semi-arid climatic region. Yala National Park has one of the highest leopard densities in the world.

Day 6: Galle

Stop At: Galle, Galle, Galle District, Southern Province
The South coast of Sri Lanka is a unique as there is no other landmass further south except for the continent of Antarctica. This is a traditional fishing area where the visitor can find anecdotal pole fishmen during the season as well as colorful fishing boats and markets along the coastline. The coast is dotted with many lovely beaches such as Marakolilla, Goyambokka, Hiriketiya, Jungle Beach, Unawatuna etc.

Stop At: Sea Turtle Farm and Hatchery - Habaraduwa, Silver Green, Matara Road Between posts 128km and 129km, Habaraduwa 80630 Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is a vital habitat for sea turtles. It has been observed that five of the seven endangered species come to the shores of Sri Lankan beaches to lay their eggs. Watching adult and newly- hatched turtles is a fascinating study. Below are the five out of seven endangered turtle species that can be seen at turtle hatcheries in Sri Lanka: Loggerhead & Green turtle – Endangered, Leatherback & Hawksbill - Critically Endangered, Olive Ridley – Vulnerable, The baby turtles are being hatched from collected turtle eggs, trained for three days to make them strong enough to survive in the sea, and then released into the Indian Ocean.

Stop At: Galle Fort, Church Street, Galle 80000 Sri Lanka
Galle Fort was an important port during the region of Sinhalese Kings, as far back as 12c. In 1505 a group of Portuguese sailors led by Don Lorenzo de Almeida invaded the island. They built the first fortification in Galle on a cliff, jutting out into the sea. It was called the Swart Bastion or the Black Fort. The fortress which was built by the Portuguese was captured by the Dutch on March 13th 1640 after a battle. The small fortification in Galle which was captured from the Portuguese by the Dutch was considerably expanded and improved by them according to their own distinct architectural style and was considered to by one of the most important of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) whose beautifully engraved stone monogram from 1669 is still visible over the entrance. On 23 rd February 1796 the 70 th Regiment of the British Forces in Sri Lanka (then known as Ceylon), led by Captain Locklan Macwary, took control of Galle without any fighting. The Galle Fort is UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 7: Airport Drop

Stop At: Colombo, Colombo, Western Province
Colombo is open and attractive city with a fascinating mix of 19 th and 20 th century colonial buildings, and more recent modern architecture. Some of the main sites covered during the city tour of the capital includes the Galle Face Green, Old Parliament, Gangaramaya Temple, Beira Lake, Viharamahadevi Park, Independence Square, Cinnamon Gardens, BMICH Hall, Nelum Pokuna Auditorium, Colombo Port.
