Hike to Adams Peak via Peak Wilderness Sanctuary

The pilgrim season to the holy mountain Sri Paada (renown as Adams Peak), begins annually on the 'Unduvap' full moon day in December and ends on the 'Vesak' full moon day in May. During this open semester, pilgrims ascend the mountain to pay homage to the sacred foot mark, which is considered holy by the Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and Moslems alike, according to their individual beliefs. Therefore, Sri Paada is the only mountain in the world receiving benefactions and veneration of devotees belonging to different faiths.

Access to Adams Peak is possible by 6 trails:The Nallathanni and the Palabaddala trails are most favored by those (Devotee’s and tourists) undertaking the climb. Apart from the two traditional trails rest of the trails are hardly used because those trails go right across the Peak Wilderness Sanctuary. We offer some unique experience for our guests who want to do this once in a lifetime hike via traditional stair case and jungle trails.
