In this walking tour, you will discover the city of Valencia, a dynamic and modern city that has changed a lot in the last years, from its roman origin (founded in 138 b.C. by Junius Brutus a roman consul), to the modern architecture like the City of the Arts and Sciences with designs by Santiago Calatrava from Valencia, a space for leisure activities, were culture and science take the leading role. Valencia is a city of contrast where you will  have a great choice to enjoy if you stay in Valencia for a few days:  large sandy beaches. the Port America's Cup, the Turia Garden (old bed of the river Turia, converted into a garden), the Natural Park of the Albufera, ….

Stop At: Valencia Cathedral, Plaza de la Reina, 46003 Valencia Spain

We can start the tour by the North Railway Station, one of the finest examples still preserved in Spain of railway architecture, a Secession Modernist style building, inaugurated in 1917. We will pass by the main square Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where we can visit the City Hall (during weekdays), integrated into the older building once known as the Royal House of Learning from the XVIII century, there we can visit the crystal room, the council room..
We will continue to see the Old University -la Nau- that dates back to the 16th century. Very near from there, you will admire the façade decorated in alabaster in Baroque Rococó style of the Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas, that today houses the National Ceramic Museum.
Then the Round Square, picturesque square constructed in XIX century, the Central Market, a Modernist-style building finished in 1928 and one of the largest markets in Europa. We will visit the Silk Exchange or Merchants' Exchange, declared World Heritage by Unesco and one of the most famous examples of Gothic civil architecture that Europe can offer.
We will continue to the Cathedral, located near to the site of a Roman temple, then the Basilica of Our Lady of the Forsaken dedicated to the city's patron saint and is a mayor place of worship.
Finally we will end at the “ Serranos Towers”, considered to be the largest Gothic city gateway in all Europe, constructed at the end of the 14th century.
