I know what info a visitor needs. I am originally from the States, BUT MARRIED INTO A GASTRONOMIC LOCAL FAMILY, and through my job working internationally, I have been exposed to various cultures and their related cuisines. I have taught adults in various environments for over 20 years.

We used to visit here twice a year for about 8 years before we made the move. During our former visits and from the time I have lived here (8 yrs. today) I have been observing and learning where the locals go and where the tourist normally go. I was taken by the hand to the pintxo bars from the old days by family and friends, into the bars that they grew up going to during the evolution of the Pintxo to what it has become today. It is not just knowing where to go, it is when to go, what to eat, how to eat it, and what drink to pair it with in order to enhance the flavor profile of the food and the drink.

We will walk past several Pintxo (NOT Basque TAPAS) bars to see what they have on offer and maybe venture in for a taste.I will suggest what to get at each stop along the way based on years of local experience. The right food paired with the correct beverage makes all the difference. There are over 200 Pintxo bars in the old town so we will have plenty to choose from. By the time our tour is over (3hrs, 5 drinks and 5 Pintxos) you should be full and feeling GREAT and will also be 10 steps ahead of the other visitors here. You will have plenty of time to continue with your new knowledge and pintxo skills to try some of the other 200+ bars for the remainder of your visit to this foodie paradise.
