Socialist October Revolution Myths and Reality

This special tour is dedicated to the revolution which not only changed Russia, but the world.

Your first stop is the Red Square. Its name is derived from the word krasnyi (red), which meant beautiful in Old Russian. But last 100 years the entire world associated the Red Square with the Red Revolution and with the Communist Party.

Next we will take you to the Historical park “Russia – My History”. Multimedia exposition “Russia – my history” occupies the area of 22 000 square meters and are devoted to 1000-year period of the Rurik and Romanov dynasties reign and also "The XX century. From Great Upheaval to a Great Victory. 1917-1945.

Then we will drive you (~1,5 hours) to the State Museum-Reserve "Gorky Leninskiye" were Vladimir Lenin spent the very last days. The estate was officially turned into a museum in 1938, and was a place of pilgrimage for Soviet citizens right up until the fall of the Soviet Union.

After that we will bring you to the hotel.

Stop At: Lenin's Mausoleum, Red Square, Moscow 613310 Russia

For the burial of the Father of the Revolution, something special had to be arranged. Immediately after his death in 1924, a wooden mausoleum was erected on the square. In 1930 his remains were interred in a granite mausoleum on the western edge of Red Square.

Stop At: Gorki Leninskiye Museum Preserve, Gorki Leninskiye 142712 Russia

This is the last place where Vladimir Lenin lived and died. The estate is very interesting as one of Shekhtel’s Art Nouveau designs, and now that most of the Lenin museums have been closed this remains the only one where you will meet this important man. The museum concerns Lenin's life here, containing such artifacts as his Last Testament (as transcribed by Nadezhda Krupskaya), other documents, photos, books, Lenin's personal car (a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost), his wheelchairs, and his apartment and office from the Kremlin, reconstructed in a separate building.

Here we will see "The XX century. From the Great Upheaval to a Great Victory. 1917-1945" section telling about the most important events of the XX century: the participation of the Russian Empire in the First World War, the events of the Civil War, periods of collectivization and industrialization, as well as the victory and losses of the Russian people in the Second World War.
