Being one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the main attraction of historical Sintra, the Pena National Palace is much more than a simple castle, it is one of the most charming places in Portugal, full of curiosities, incredible landscapes and fantasy. The Palace was built in the 19th century, on a steep rock, which is the second highest point of the Serra de Sintra (above the palace is only the Cruz Alta, at 528m altitude)
