The Lagoa de Albufeira is situated on the western edge of the Setúbal Peninsula, on the Caparica-Espichel coastline, about 20 km south of Lisbon. It is a place of unusual beauty, where the sea meets the lagoon and extensive pine forests.The Lagoon has unusual and excellent characteristics for the practice of sport fishing, sailing and windsurfing.

It is formed by two main lagoon bodies connected by a narrow, sinuous and shallow channel: the Lagoa Pequena, more interior and less deep and the Lagoa Grande, with maximum depths of about 15m.

Set in the Arrábida mountain range and adjacent maritime area, the Arrábida Natural Park occupies an area of approximately 17,000 hectares, of which more than 5,000 are of marine surface, covering territory belonging to the counties of Palmela, Sesimbra and Setúbal. Serra da Arrábida is one of the most beautiful protected areas of Portugal. Here you can find fantastic deserted beaches between the blue of the sea and the green of the mountains. You can also walk along the various walking routes, observe dolphins in the Sado estuary and visit some monuments.
