Stop At: Quinta Do Mocho, Sacavem Portugal

Urban art is today one of the hallmarks of the municipality of Loures and has its highest exponent in the Gallery of Public Art (GAP) of Quinta do Mocho, in Sacavém.
Already considered as the largest urban art gallery in Europe, GAP brings together a group of works by several national and foreign artists, who spontaneously joined the Municipality of Loures in this social intervention, whose objective was to change the image of this marked territory by the stigma of "social neighbourhood".
An intervention that involved the artistic qualification of the buildings, the urban requalification, but mainly the mobilization of the inhabitants around the idea of showing the neighbourhood​ to the world and bringing the world to the neighbourhood​, thus managing to foster their sense of belonging.
Currently, GAP has at its disposal more than 50 works of street art, at the level of the best that is done in Portugal and in the World. The guided tours always take place on the last Saturday of each month, at 10 o'clock, being the meeting point in the House of Culture of Sacavém.
