Évora is an inland city with a glorious historical past. It’s inevitably associated with the image of the Temple of Diana; a Roman construction kept almost intact located right in the heart of the city. The temple’s magnitude is impressive. The Almendres cromlech is a megalithic complex in the outskirts of Évora which attest the historical background importance of the region. This well-kept site is the largest remaining site of this nature in the Iberian Peninsula, and the structures date back 6th millennium BC. Its ancientness is astonishing, striking and unique.
