Cistercian Route

On this route the traveler can go back in time and return to medieval times by following the paths that the monks of Cistercian tore through these places.

The Varosa Valley was a focal point in the expansion of the Cistercian Order, which, focusing on agriculture and particularly wine, played a prominent role in the neighboring region of the Douro.
