Itinerary

Day 1: Alona Beach & a Firefly Boat Cruise

Stop At: Alona Beach, Philippines
When traveling from abroad to the Philippines, Manila is usually most tourists’ first point of arrival. It is recommended that you avoid the capital altogether and instead simply use its airport as a layover en route to the island of Bohol. Upon arrival to the island’s capital, Tagbilaran, we would take a 45-minute drive to the settlement of Panglao. This is our base from which to explore the island and where our lodge is located. Our tour group will be hanging out at Alona beach. About 1,500 meters (1,640 yards) long and lined with palm trees, resorts and shops, the white-sandy Alona beach is popular both day and night. We would make convenient arrangements for you to join the rest of us after you have checked into your room.

Your tour with us today starts officially at 5:15pm. Please be in the lobby at this time, as your tour guide and driver should be waiting for you there. We are to be taken via a 45-minute drive to the Abatan River Community Life Tour, where we are to go on a firefly boat cruise. Probably you have never seen something like this before. The tour starts shortly after arrival and lasts up to 3 hours. We should be back at 8:30pm.

Day 2: Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Sanctuary & Loboc River

Stop At: Tarsier Botanika Km. 16 Hoyohoy Tawala, 6340 Philippines
We are exploring Bohol Island. Specifically, we are to see Loboc River (for a cruise), Tarsier Sanctuary, Chocolate Hills, Habitat Butterflies Conservation Center, Bilar Man-Made Forest and Baclayon Church.

The highlights are Loboc River, Tarsier Sanctuary and Chocolate Hills. Chocolate Hills’ unique and mound-shaped formations are Bohol’s most popular attraction. During the dry season, the grass-covered hills turn chocolate brown in color. This transforms the area into seemingly endless rows of chocolate kisses. Another highlight is a visit to a sanctuary to see endangered tarsiers. These primates can only be found on a few islands throughout Southeast Asia. Not least is a boat cruise along the Loboc River. Lunch is included in this boat cruise tour.

Day 3: Casaroro Falls & Pulangbato Falls

Stop At: Casaroro Falls, Taft St, Valencia, Negros Oriental, Philippines
We are taking a 2-hour boat ride from Tagbilaran to Dumaguete, a town best used as a base from which to explore the area. The first stop on today’s tour is Casaroro Falls, which is about a 30-minute drive away. Have ready your swimming attire and a towel. The next stop is Pulangbato Falls, which is about a 45-minute drive away. The drive back to Dumaguete takes about 35 minutes. We should be back at 5:30pm.

Day 4: Apo Island

Stop At: Pulangbato Falls, Ocoy Valley Valencia, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental 6000 Philippines
We are making a daytrip via a one-hour drive to the port in Malatapay followed by a 30-minute boat ride to Apo Island. Big-eyed jacks, bump-head parrotfish, and sea snakes inhabit the reefs of the island. Nevertheless, the highlight for most tourists are the sea turtles. They get so close to swimmers and are pretty big.

Day 5: Swimming with Whale Sharks, Seeing Aguinid Falls & Canyoneering at Kawasan Falls

Stop At: Kawasan Falls, Matutinao, Badian 6031 Philippines
Today will be a long but exciting day nonetheless. From Dumaguete, we are taking a 1.5-hour boat ride to Oslob. After the one-hour swim with the whale sharks, we will take a one-hour drive to Aguinid Falls. This is a great place for seeing waterfalls. Last but definitely not least, from Aguinid Falls we take a one-hour drive to Kawasan Falls. Here we are to have lunch, which is included in the tour price. Kawasan Falls is a destination popular specifically for canyoneering. After that thrilling four-hour tour, we take a two-hour drive to Cebu City. We sleep at a hotel near the airport.
