Itinerary

Day 1: Muscat-Sinkhole - Wadi Shab - Sur- Ras Al Hadd

Stop At: Bimmah Sinkhole, Hawiyat Najm Park, Muscat Oman
The tour departs Muscat in the morning towards Ras al Hadd. Our First stop Bimah sinkhole (swimming in the sinkhole lake is possible)

Bimah Sinkhole a water filled depression, structurally a sinkhole, in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. A lake of turquoise waters, it is 50 m by 70 m wide and approximately 20 m deep. It is only about 600 m away from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah. The sinkhole was formed by a collapse of the surface layer due to dissolution of the underlying limestone. To preserve the sinkhole, the local municipality developed a park there.

Duration: 1 day 6 hours

Stop At: Wadi Shab, 50km West of Sur, Sur 411 Oman
After photo stop at the Bimah sinkhole we arrive towards Wadi Shab, This Wadi is an enormous canyon gorge that is lined with palm trees and impressive indications of what the power of the water coming down from the mountains can do in nature.

With a 35 to 40 minute hike up through the canyon Wadi, we arrive at one of several crystal clear water pools. Tourists can swim on through the warm waters from pool to pool. Eventually we come to the last pool where an opening among the enormous rocks allows us to swim into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall. Inside, the sunlight filters in from the outside, turning the water into a beautiful turquoise blue whilst water showers down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.

Stop At: Sur Maritime Museum, Wilayat, Sur Oman
From the wadi we continue our trip to Sur, we will take you for a small city tour in Sur we will show you the Dhow Factory and old ship we take you to the old part from Sur where you can see most of the houses there designed by the wooden doors and windows

Stop At: Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, Ras Al Jinz, Sur 411 Oman
The tour continues to Ras al Hadd. after check in at turtle beach resortin the evening after dinner, we take you to the Turtle sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz. Here we will go on a guided beautiful walking tour on the beach at night under the stars, where we have a high chance of seeing Omanis great sea turtles stumbling on to the beach to build a nest and lay the eggs. If you are lucky, you can even see baby turtles hatching from some nests.

Day 2: Ras Al Had- Wadi Bani Khalid- Wahiba Sands

Stop At: Wadi Bani Khalid, Road 23 apprx. 40 km from Bidiyyah Muscat-Sur Road, Muscat 113 Oman
Today we take you to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the biggest and most beautiful Wadis in Oman. Here you can swim in 9 meters depth water pools, sunbath, relax in the beautiful scenic Wadi canyons.

In the afternoon we continue to our desert camp in the Wahiba Sands desert, where you relax or take part in an adventurous 4x4 drive in the sand dunes. Then we will watch the stunning sunset of the desert on one of the big sand dunes. We finish the day with a Buffet Dinner at the camp.

Day 3: Wahiba Sands-Al Mudhaireb-Ibra-Zukait tower tombs-Nizwa

Stop At: Ibra Ladies Souk, Ibra Oman
In the morning we drive to Al Mudhaireb. you can walk a bit uphill where you will be within the ruins of the old village of Al Mudhaireb. The ruins are quite interesting and you can explore the area, but if you keep going uphill you will see one of the many watchtowers of Al Mudhaireb. The view from that watchtower is quite nice and once there you will see that there are half a dozen other watchtowers in Al Mudhaireb. Historically, each quarter of the village had its own watchtower to warn the residents from attacks from other villages/quarters, and there would have been an old quarter under or near-by to each of these watchtowers.

From There we continue our journey to Ibra there we will visit the old ancient Village of Ibra, which is old approximately 1000 years.

Stop At: Zukait Tombs, Oman
from there on the way to Nizwa on the village of Zukait stop at cylindrical tombs date back to the third millennium BC. Located on a hilltop in the Al Dakhiliyah region, they are made of mountain rock stacked to create a distinctive beehive shape.

Day 4: Nizwa Fort and Market- Green mountain- Birkat Al mawz- Nizwa

Stop At: Nizwa Souk, City Center Close to the fort, Nizwa 611 Oman
We start the day early to visit the Nizwa Souq. A wide variety of vendors offer their goods in the streets of the souk, Here you can find vegetables, pottery, jewelry, handicrafts and souvenirs which are sold in authentic old market halls that few places can boast. Especially interesting is the Friday cattle market, when the locals from the nearby Villages come to sell their, goats, cattle, sheep and chickens in a circus style open market place.

Stop At: Nizwa Fort Oman, Nizwa Oman
Next to the Souq is Nizwa Fortress. The fort is a museum today and offers splendid views of this ancient town and the surrounding mountains. You can walk around in this impressive fortress and visit its many rooms, passages and towers. The fort is an architectural testimony to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century. It was a military stronghold designed to withstand even the strongest of attacks at the time. Even along the corridors, many traps were laid to deter any intruders that might have penetrated the defenses.

Stop At: Jebel Akhdar, Al Hajar Mountains Range, Nizwa Oman
From Nizwa drive to (Jebel Akhdar) its knowing as "Green Mountain" it is considered one of the most scenic areas in Oman; it is a part of Al Hajar Mountain Range. Jebel Akhdar has so called because of the presence of green terraced gardens surrounding the village's .A variety of fruits like, pomegranates, apricot, apple, olives, Grape, Rose, Peaches, and Walnut. Are grown here There are interesting walks in Wadi Bani Habib, Shrejah, Al Ain and Al Aqur.

Stop At: Birkat Al Mouz Ruins, Nizwa Oman
After green Mountain visit birkat Al Mauz, It has a large Falaj system which supplies water date palms and vegetables for many orchards; it's listed to the UNICCO the world heritage and culture. Day 5: Nizwa-Jabreen Castle- Misfah Al Abreen- Al Hamra- Wadi Ghul-Grand Canyon (Jabal Shams)

Stop At: Jibreen Castle, Jabrin 612 Oman
Today we are driving up to the Jebel Shams Mountain (Grand Canyon Of Oman). On the way we will make a stop in Jabreen Castle this castle was originally designed as a presidential palace in 1670 by Balarab bin Sultan bins Saif Ya'arubi Dynasty. An extensive renovation was carried out in 1984. The interior includes various furniture and traditional utensils to provide visitors with a taste of period castle lifestyle. The building itself is decorated with elaborate wood carvings, ceiling paintings and stucco work. The castle is open to visitors

Stop At: Misfat al Abreyeen, Al Hamra Oman
Then we drive to Misfah al Abreen. This pictures village lies on a steep slope at the foot of Jebel Shams, and consists of old homes and narrow streets.it has falaj system for many orchards, date palms and vegetables. It is worth to spend sometimes walking around the village.

Stop At: Wadi Ghul - Oman's Grand Canyon, Al Hamra Oman
from there we drive into wadi Ghul The village of Wadi Ghul, which is old approximately 2000 years old located at the foot of Mountain Ghul and can be seen and you are on your way to Jabal Shams has been abandoned by its inhabitants and no one remained in, it has been built of solid stones.

from there drive into Wadi Nakhar its beautiful sites, spectacular view which derives its name from the local word (necrosis), which means the process of rock sculpture «erosion» as the water of this valley formed during the time periods.

Wadi Al Nakhar is one of the deepest valleys in Oman because of its geographical characteristics. The great gap in Jabal Shams is considered to be the most important source of water, since its large opening leads to valleys and reefs that form the valley of Al Nakhar.

From there we start driving up to Jebel Shams Mountain ( the grand canyon of Oman) 3009 Meters to the Resort where we spend the night. After our check-in, you have leisure time the rest of the day. You can spend the afternoon walking around the famous Grand Canyon of Oman. There are many different walking paths to choose from (easy short or difficult and long). The Canyon edge offers spectacular views of the Wadis and valleys below

Day 6: Grand canyon- Wadi Bani Auf- Muscat

Stop At: Track Wadi Bani Awf, Al Hamra Oman
In the morning we drive down the mountain the other side (east) into the Wadi Bani Awf. This mountain road drive is an exciting off road experience and offers fantastic views into dramatic canyons and Wadis, as it winds down several K.M before connecting with Wadi Bani Awf. We will pass several villages the most beautiful village there is Balad sayt. Its surround by the mountains from all direction Once we reach the Valley (Wadi Bani Awf), will pass also by impressive Wadi Canyons (Snake canyon) the road leads us through the Wadi while passing numerous small villages. From there we drive back to Muscat.
