Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Chola Pass Trek

Everest base camp trek refers to two base camps trek on opposite sides of Mount Everest(It could also include any Everest base camp on a given route, but this is less common since the two main routes became standardized). The two-week trek starts and finishes at Lukla, an airstrip to the south of the region better known as the ‘Gateway to Everest’. The trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp trek continues to be one of our most rewarding journeys. You will have a day to explore the exotic city of Kathmandu before flying into the remote mountain town of Lukla (2,840m – 9,350 ft) to begin our trek into the Khumbu region of the Himalayas. The views of the Himalayan Mountains from Lukla on a clear day are breathtaking. South Base Camp is used when climbing via the southeast ridge hile North Base Camp is used when climbing via the northeast ridge.

Take a mesmerizing flight to Lukla (2800m) from Kathmandu as you overlook a beautiful landscape of snow-capped mountains. Kathmandu to Lukla by Tara Air / Sita Air / Summit Air. The village of Khumjung is not directly on the main trail to the most popular trekking destinations, but to the devout Tibetan Buddhists in the region it is considered a focal point for their faith and it has been a great beneficiary of the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation.
