Chef Samuel's Quick Wok and Kueh Class

You'll learn the basics of Asian cooking with a professional chef from handling a traditional chinese wok, comprehend parts of a dish to learning the right way to use a knife. Discover and learn my secret recipe - seasoning sauce which is soul of every Hot Wok dish and understand stir-frying principles & techniques.

You'll also be introduced to a signature South East Asia's pastry - Kueh. Get to know the insights of intertwining Baba Nyonya & British culture. Hands-on learning the kueh's wrapping skill.

Vegetarian and vegan are welcome. Let me know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.

Although not private, we'll only receive at a max of 2 bookings. Rest assure you'll be well taken care, and personal enough as this class only accommodate till 8 pax.

Hailed as "Food Heaven of Asia", we'll learn 2-dish that made Penang world's most iconic food destination - 1 of a hot wok hawker dish and 1 of a bite-sized street snack. After we pick you up, we'll arrive to our beautiful home with breathtaking bird eye view of Penang.

You will learn the soul of a hot wok hawker dish - seasoning sauce, the tasty secret you could use it for any Asian dishes. You will then stir-fry them on the traditional Chinese wok, which I will share my professional tips to get "wok hei" - the smell of the wok that contribute to the incredible aroma of hawker food. A quick dish like this is easy to remake back home and tasty too!

Another bite-sized Malaysian street snack - kuih or kueh requires patience and skills in the making, you will skillfully learn the tips and tricks to wrap them and spend some fun happy moments savouring the pastry!

• Char Koay Teow - Penang is famous for its charred and aromatic Char Koay Teow, stir-fried in high heat with prawns, cockles, eggs and bean sprouts under fiery fire
• Kuih Koci - A traditional nyonya pastry wrapped with banana leaf and filled with shredded coconut filling in palm sugar syrup
