BOAT TOUR to discover Salento

The Boat Tour offers the possibility of making a short boat tour of the internal Marina and reaching the other part of the city.
After crossing the port by boat, it will be possible to walk to the spectacular Monument to the Sailor of Brindisi and the picturesque Fishermen Village of the city.
The Monument to the Sailor of Brindisi, represents the most important and imposing historical monumental structure of the city.
It has a rudder shape and was made of reinforced concrete covered with a golden colored stone.
Once reached the summit, at a height of 53 meters, it will be possible to admire a panoramic view of the port and the city.
We will then proceed on foot, reaching the characteristic Fishermen Village of Brindisi, a historic corner of the city where Salento traditions and culture still offer magical landscapes.
Afterwards we leave by boat to reach the other part of the city again (place of departure).

Stop At: Colonne Terminali della Via Appia, Via Colonne Porto di Brindisi, Brindisi Italy

We will reach the Roman Columns to discover the end of the Appian Way.
From this strategic location, you can also admire the beauty of the Marina, the Alfonsino Castle at sea and the other part of the city.

Stop At: Monumento al Marinaio d'Italia, Viale Duca degli Abruzzi, 72100 Brindisi Italy

Once out of the boat, we will walk to the Monument to the Sailor of Brindisi, which certainly represents the main symbol of the city.
The structure is rudder-shaped and made of reinforced concrete completely covered in stone.
The Monument to the Sailor was created to commemorate the approximately 6,000 sailors who fell during the First World War (1915-1918).
From the height of its 53 meters it will be possible to follow it and explore it until it reaches the highest part for a fantastic panoramic view of the city.

During the walking tour we will see the picturesque '' Fishermen's Village of Brindisi '' designed by Ing. Ugo DÂ’Alonzo in 1938, to welcome the people of the Sciabiche marine district, on the opposite shore of the western side.
The Fishermen Village of Brindisi represents a piece of Brindisi tradition that often becomes folklore.
It will be possible to see the characteristic fishermen's houses and their local activities in a corner of the city where time seems to have stopped.
Very interesting to observe the fishermen in their activity of production and repair of the "sciabbiche" the traditional fishing nets characteristic of the maritime tradition of Brindisi.
