The water was cool and refreshing, and it was the purest water you had ever touched. It’s easy to see why they consider this to be holy water, because as soon as you submerge yourself in it you feel absoluelty pure. The walk was so serene and it was the perfect compliment to the purification ceremony you had at the water temple.

Visit: Genah Melukat sebatu, Jl. Sebatu No.25, Sebatu, Kec. Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80561, Indonesia

The entrance to Genah Melukat Sebatu is easy to miss, just a narrow staircase and the sound of rushing water let us know where you were. You will started a long descend down the staircase to get to the water temple. The entire walk down to the temple was beautiful, with a cascading waterfall and remnants of traditional offerings floating in the water.
When you are finally got to the temple you sat down with offerings that had brought and prayed (with who your guidance). After that involved the use of flowers that you place behind your ear, and also use the smoke from the incense to cleanse.

If you’ve never been to Bali before then I’ll quickly explain the offerings, which can be seen absolutely everywhere in Bali. These offerings are handmade daily and the base is like a basket made of palm leaves. They fill the base with flowers, rice and anything else they have to “offer” their god. Sometimes you’ll see money or food added to them as well.

After praying you walked further down the steps to the water temple. You lined up in the waist deep water waiting for their turn at the temple.

In the Balinese culture they do everything in threes to bring good luck. When you approached the rushing water you took three sips of water from my hands, you washed my face three times and you washed my hair three times.
