The total trek distance is approximately 5 km one way and takes nearly 2 hours. Trekking in Moon light is a delight as there will be beautiful moon night and cold biting wind kissing strained skin.

The top of the hill offers panoramic views of the valley below. As we reach the top, to witness the most magnanimous sight of the sun rising above beds of clouds, a sight so rare and equally reviving.

Itinerary

Skandagiri, also referred as Kalavara Durga, is a mountain fortress located approximately 62 km from Bangalore city, and 3 km from Chikballapur in the Karnataka, India. The peak is at an elevation of around 1450 meters. It is a hill with the ruins of a fort which goes back to the eighteenth century and is in an incapacitated condition. "Papagni mutt" is the ancient temple closely situated to it.

Day 1

11:30 PM Pick up starts from Bangalore

04:00 AM Reach Base and start trekking 5kms one way

06:00 AM Reach peak and relax

06:15 AM Enjoy a beautiful sunrise from atop the peak

07:30 AM Descend to the base

10:30 AM Have Breakfast on the way

12:00 PM Head back to Bangalore to give an end to this amazing journey
