One of the largest forts in the world, the Jaisalmer Fort was built in 1156 AD by the Bhati Rajput leader, Rao Jodha. The golden fort stands proudly in the middle of the vast golden sand of the Thar Desert and is one of the most prominent tourist spots in the region.

Maharana Jai Singh (1680-1698 AD) built Rani ka mahal for his youngest queen in Veerpura. Located on the top of a hill from where one can have a panoramic view of the city below, this place has many tales associated with it.
