The canals have long since gone and it is now a chaotically bustling area, typical of real India, containing a mix of stalls, shops, food outlets and temples. The locals go shopping here like nowhere else Next, two renowned 17th-century landmarks: Lal Qila - the Red Fort palaces which we drive pass along with India Gate (The country memorial to the unknown soldiers), embassy area (Diplomatic Enclave), Govt. The morning after breakfast proceed to a guided city tour visiting Amber Fort; add a magical touch to the visit by shared jeep riding from the foot of the hill up to the gates of the fortress in the manner of former kings and queens. Within the complex, Ganesh Pol, an imposing gateway painted with images of the elephant-headed god, Ganesh takes pride of the place. Also, a part of the complex is the Diwan-I-Aam (Hall of the Public audience) with its spectacular display of pillars. The typical merging of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles is captured in the Sukh Nivas and Jas Mandir apartments, and the Charbagh garden with its perfectly proportioned landscaping. Beyond the rampant, the old city, once the abode of the aristocracy, has a wonderfully medieval flavour, though it has few buildings of majestic proportion that are still extant. After the visit return to the hotel for Lunch. Afternoon Visit the Maharaja's City Palace, the home of the erstwhile royal family, the Observatory, take a photo stop at Hawa Mahal also known as Wind Palace built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and drive past the old part of Jaipur city. Jantar Mantar; one of the famed observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh is a complex of astronomical instruments, chiselled out of stone which provides fairly accurate information to this day. The historic pink-painted sandstone architecture earned the city the affectionate nickname of the 'Pink City'. The buildings within the Old City district of Jaipur were first painted pink in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales, and this tradition has remained ever since. Stay overnight in Jaipur.
