Next on our way, Varvakios Fish & Meat Market, along with its fruit, vegetable and spices stands. The market boasts a variety of local, seasonal and fresh produce - a feast for all the senses! First stop: a pastry shop, to enjoy delightful pies. Filled up with delicious snacks, we continue on to the oldest coffee roaster in the city and see how Greek coffee is made on hot sand!
Further on, we will follow the locals to a laid back deli store. The warm-hearted family behind it, treats customers as friends. Welcoming treats, like wine and spirits, will travel us around Greece, along with hand-picked cheeses, cold-cuts, olives, olive oil, honey and yogurt. After our “warm-up”, we will enjoy our main meal at an unpretentious, popular to locals eatery, trying 7 different dishes from a talented cook who honours Greek cuisine.
On our last stop, in the hip and bohemian Psyrri, we will treat you with the sweetest memories from Athens, serving baklava and a unique flavoured ice-cream.
