Smuggler's Cove and Around the Island

Take a full -day trip on a wooden pirate ship from Zakynthos Town port and sail past the wonderful coastal highlights of Zakynthos. The sights include Smuggler's Cove, the Blue Caves, the Keri Caves, the Bay of Lagana and the beautiful beaches of Vasilikos.
After being picked up from your resort, you will head to the main harbour in Zakynthos Town to board your cruise boat at around 09.30 for an unforgettable experience cruising around the whole island.
At the start of the day you will cruise past the residential and tourist areas in the north of the island and upto Skinari, where you can see the lighthouse which is still in operation and also a small island which is shaped like a turtle.

Stop At: Blue Caves, Agios Nikolaos, Volimes Greece

The boat will sail close to the famous Blue Caves, discovered in 1897. The name comes from the colour of the water, a mesmerising turquoise-blue which reflects onto the walls of the caves. There will be chance for a photo stop here, but if the weather conditions are favourable may be even a swim stop.

Stop At: Smuggler's Cove, Only reached by boat Top of the island, 291 00 Greece

Heading into Smuggler's Cove, which is only accessible by sea, see the "Panayiotis" shipwreck and stop for a refreshing swim in the lovely crystal blue waters. The boat will anchor as close to the shore as possible depending on the sea and weather conditions and anyone wishing to go to the beach may do so. The beach is covered in small white pebbles.

Pass By: Keri Caves, Limni Keri Greece

There are many caves in this area on the west side of the island which were all created by the erosion of the rocks by the sea.
There are also two huge conical rocks which bounce from the crystal blue waters in Keri. They are called the Small and the Big Mitzithra and are named after a famous Greek cheese because of their shape.


Pass By: National Marine Park of Zakynthos, Zakynthos Town 291 00 Greece

The boat continues on sailing across the Bay of Lagana and passing the beautiful beaches of Vassilikos. This area is all part of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos as it where the endangered Loggerhead Turtles, Caretta-Caretta, have their nesting sites.
During this time there will be the opportunity for one or two more swim stops before the boat heads back to the port in Zakynthos Town for about 17.15.
