It is considered among the most beautiful islands in Greece. Its beauty has been spread through the world and millions of tourists come every summer to Mykonos to feel the island's special vibe! With good air or ferry connection to Athens and other islands, Mykonos is the second most visited island of Greece, after Santorini. The traditional architecture, the gorgeous beaches and the extreme nightlife is what makes Mykonos so famous around the world. This was one of the first islands to open to tourism, from as early as the 1960s. At first, it attracted mostly artists and wealthy businessmen, which is why the island still keeps its cosmopolitan atmosphere. Chora is the capital and center of activities in Mykonos. 

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Athens

Stop At: Athens, Athens, Attica
Arrival at Athens Airport. We will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign with your name on. We will give you all the documents and information needed for your trip. Transfer to your hotel in Athens.

Day 2: Travel to Mykonos

Stop At: Mykonos, Mykonos, Cyclades, South Aegean
Breakfast. 06:15 am transfer to Piraeus port and embarkation to the Blue Star Boat to Mykonos.

Boat Schedule:

Departing from Piraeus at 07:35 am and arriving at Mykonos at 12:50 pm. Transfer to your hotel in Mykonos.

Day 3: Delos Tour

Delos tour visit one of the most important archaeological sites of Greece :

THE ANCIENT SACRED ISLAND OF DELOS !

Only a 45 minute boat ride away from Mykonos Delos was the centre of the Cyclades of the ancient world, the island of light, birthplace of Apollon and Artemis, home to the first multicultural civilization and trade.

There is a lot to see: having been inhabited between 2500 and 69 b.C. Delos boasts of many treasures remaining from these times like the ancient market place Agora, the famous terrace of the Naxos lions, the holy lake, the ancients living quarters and theatre that give you a lively vision of the daily life then; especially the houses of Dionysos, Kleopatra, the Trident, the Masks, the Dolphins with their mosaics are a fantastic experience of art not to be missed.

Furthermore there are the Temple of Isis, the Egyptian goddess, the Roman water system and cisterns and the wonderful museum with plenty of breathtaking mosaics, statues and many more objects found during the excavations.

On our guided tour you depart at 10pm from the old pier in Mykonos Town and you return at 2.30 pm. If you wish to remain a little bit longer you can also take the last boat back at 3 pm in order to have some time at leisure or maybe climb on Mount Kynthos to enjoy the view over all the surrounding Cycladic islands.

Day 4: Mykonos Island

Day 5: Departure from Mykonos

Departing from Mykonos at 14:15 pm and arriving at Piraeus port at 19:45 pm. Transfer to your hotel in Athens.

Day 6: Athens Half Day Tour Private

Stop At: Athens, Athens, Attica
During this tour you will be narrated the city's history whilst admiring the magnificent views of historical and archaeological sites; the ex royal palace with its famous gardens, the change of the guards, Hadrian's Arch, The Parthenon and its marbles, the theatre of Dionysus, the Asklepieion, and other sites with more than  4000 years of history that are waiting to be explored.

The Erechtheium Caryatides

In the Acropolis tour, you will be introduced to some of Parthenon's uniquely astonishing facts and figures such as: A total of 2,675 tons of architectural members were restored, with 686 stones reassembled from fragments of the originals, 905 patched with new marble, and 186 parts made entirely of new marble. A total of 530 cubic meters of new Pentelic marble were used.

A caryatid is a sculpted female figure serving as an architectural support taking the place of a column or a pillar supporting an entablature on her head. The Greek term karyatides literally means "maidens of Karyai", an ancient town of the Peloponnese. Karyai had a famous temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis in her aspect of Artemis Karyatis: "As Karyatis she rejoiced in the dances of the nut-tree village of Karyai, those Karyatides, who in their ecstatic round-dance carried on their heads baskets of live reeds, as if they were dancing plants"

The New Acropolis Museum

Furthermore, there will be time to visit The New Acropolis Museum to admire the exhibits illustrating 5000 years of history. It is an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the archaeological site of the Acropolis. The museum was built in 2003 to house every artifact found on the rock and on its feet, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. It lies on the archaeological site of Makrygianni at the lower part of the Acropolis hill.

During this Athens half day tour you will have a full view of Athens with its historical sites and monuments such as: the Panathinaikon stadium, the national gallery, the archaeological museum, the national theater, Omonoia square, the open market, the national history Museum, Syntagma square, Plaka area, the major shopping district in the city centre, St. Paul's Anglican Church, the Royal gardens, the houses of parliament, the tomb of the unknown soldier, St. Denis Roman Catholic Cathedral, the academy of arts & letters, Athens University, the national library, the presidential residence (ex Royal Palace), the change of the honor guards, Zappion congress, the temple of Olympic Zeus, Hadrian's gate, the theater of Dionysus, the Asclepieum medical center, Herod Atticus Odeon, and the Areios Pagos (St. Paul Acts XVII on Mars Hill).
