4 Days Southern Ethiopia Cultural Tour

This is a 4 days tour to Southern Ethiopia cultural routes. On this tour you will see different Ethiopian tribes and their cultures including the Oromo, the Gurage, the Wolayta, the Halaba and the Dorze. In addition you will also visit Lake Awassa and lake chamo, the giant Nile crocodile and hippos and other aquatic life of these lakes.

Activity Details (Itinerary)

DAY 01: ADDIS ABABA – ARBA MINCH

Morning (8am) pickup from your hotel, airport or from  any location in Addis Ababa and drive to Arba minch. On the way visit Rift Valley lakes that are teemed with different bird species. Overnight Ezana hotel or similar in Arba minch.

DAY 02: EXCURSION to LAKE CHAMO and DORZE VILLAGE

Morning after breakfast make boat trip on Lake Chamo to see the largest Nile crocodiles which measure up to 7 mts. Also enjoy hippos and other aquatic life of the Lake. In the fternoon drive to Chencha to visit Dorze tribes known for their unique housing style and traditional weaving skills. Then drive back to Arba minch. Overnight Ezana hotel or similar in Arba minch.

DAY 03: ARBA MINCH – AWASSA

Morning after breakfast drive to Awassa. On the way visit different colourful cultures and people such as Wolayta and Halaba. Proceed to Awassa, the most beautiful Ethiopian town located in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. Overnight Lake view resort or similar in Awassa.

DAY 04: AWASSA – ADDIS ABABA

Morning after breakfast, visit the traditional fish market at Lake Awassa. Then drive back to Addis. In the evening farewell dinner at cultural restaurant and transfer to airport for departure. End of the tour.
