Itinerary

Day 1: Medellín Guatape Rock + Coffee Farm

Stop At: Laguna de Guatape, Loma del Escobero, Medellin 053840 Colombia
You will begin your day with a pickup from your Medellín accommodation of 8 am. You’ll then be driven through some of the most beautiful scenery you have ever seen to your choice of a Flower Farm or a Coffee Farm. You’ll be so happy with either option, as when you stop at the flower farm you’ll get to learn about the 300-year-old tradition of the silletas, the Silleteros and also see an amazing variety of flowers. But if you choose the coffee tour, then you’ll discover the whole process from planting the seed to pouring the perfect cup. You’ll also check out the plantation and be shown step by step exactly what goes into making the best coffee beans in the world. But don’t worry if you choose one and would also like to see the other as well, as we have both of these tours running separately as well

Next, you will carry on to the replica town of Old Peñol; this town was actually flooded and is the bottom of Lake Guatape now. The only part of this town that is still visible is the church spiral that sticks out of the water marking the spot for everyone to see.

After you have walked through the replica overlooking Guatape lake, you will carry on to the big rock known as La Piedra (The Stone), Guatape Rock and El Peñol Rock. Once there you will have the opportunity to climb the 740 steps to the very top with absolutely breathtaking views every step of the way. Once you’ve got to the top you’ll have time to catch your breath and take a million photos before leisurely taking the 740 steps back down again.

After you have returned to the ground you will be collected and driven to the nearby Guatape Town, where you will walk the cobblestone streets lined with colorful buildings and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before being driven back to your Medellín accommodation in our comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.
