You’ll enjoy the healing powers of the mud volcano as you soak in this relaxing paradise before you are cleaned from head to toe by members from the local community, followed by a relaxing swim in the temperate Caribbean ocean.

You’ll cruise through the mangroves on a manmade canoe navigated by a local fisherman who will wind through the mangroves pointing out wildlife and enjoy a walk through their beachside community.

Itinerary

Day 1: Rosario Islands + Boat Cruise and lunch

Stop At: Parque Nacional Natural Corales del Rosario y San Bernardo, Colombia
You’ll be starting your day with an 8 am pickup from your hotel in an air-conditioned car. From there we’ll take you to pier de la bodeguita (Wharf of the Bodeguita) where a speedboat will be waiting to take you on a breathtaking ocean cruise touring the Rosario Islands to arrive at a beautiful picturesque beach for a typical Caribbean lunch, crystal clear waters, water-sports, white sands, palm trees and a return trip to Cartagena for a 4 pm arrival.
You’ll be assigned your personal beach space which will be exclusive for yourself and members of your group.
You’ll receive full beach service, a fantastic typical lunch; use of deckchairs and umbrellas; a cocktail on arrival and English speaking hosts.
You will have the full day to relax and enjoy your space, along with the ability to hire gear for snorkeling, paddleboarding or kayaking.
This will be one of the highlights of your Caribbean adventure!

Day 2: City Bike Tour

Stop At: Walled City of Cartagena, Calle 41, Cartagena 130002 Colombia
You will be starting today’s journey at a time of your choosing after 8 am from The Holy Trinity Square in Getsemani. Here you will learn the background of one of the earliest neighborhoods of Cartagena, and also among the first places in Colombia to hear the cries of independence. From there you’ll take the path east for Manga Island and Fuerte Del Pastelillo (Fort Pastelillo).
You’ll then continue east to the most important fort of Cartagena; Castillo San Felipe, where you will learn the complete history of this amazing structure, including how many centuries this massive structure took to build. How many times it has been overrun by pirates and how this was a central part of the slave trade for South America.
Next, on this fun ride you’ll be introduced to India Cartagena; a beautiful statue and tribute to an amazingly strong indigenes woman. Where you’ll learn her importance to peace in this region.
Last, on your tour, you will explore the great walls and the old city itself. Where you will learn the fascinating history of when construction started, how it was built and why it took 2 centuries to be completed.
You’ll be completing this tour before lunch and have the rest of the day to relax and roam this magical city.

Day 3: Mud Volcano and Mangrove Tour

Stop At: Volcan de Lodo El Totumo (Mud Volcano), Santa Catalina, Caribe Colombiano, Cartagena Colombia
Enjoy a mud bath in the mineral-rich, world-famous El Volcán de Lodo El Totumo (The mud volcano of Totumo). Here locals will help you massage the mud onto your body. After your relaxing mud bath, a group of women in the Totumo Marsh will be responsible for your cleaning. At the end of this process, we head to the beautiful beaches of Manzanillo del Mar where you’ll enjoy a swim in the tropical waters. Next, you’ll enjoy a fabulous typical Caribbean lunch including Coconut rice, fried fish, green salad and patacones (group tour).

Stop At: Playas de la Boquilla, Cielo Mar Carrera 9 No. 20-14 Playa la Boquilla, Cartagena 130001 Colombia
In Boquilla, a small community of fisherman on the coast of the Caribbean Sea you’ll start your panoramic journey in a comfortable man-made canoe through the canals of the surrounding mangroves with the guidance of some of the local fisherman. At the end of the tour, you will enjoy a stroll through the community while drinking coconut water and discussing all the amazing wildlife you have just seen.
