4 days in San Pedro de Atacama

A complete 4 day program. excursion to the Moon Valley, excursion to Piedras Rojas with the Salar de Atacama and Toconao, excursion to the Tatio Geyser, Guatin Canyon, a visit to Laguna Cejar lagoon and Arcoiris Valley.

A complete 4-day program that includes excursion to the Moon Valley, excursion to Piedras Rojas with the Salar de Atacama and Toconao, excursion to the Tatio Geyser, Cañon de Guatin and a visit to Laguna Cejar lagoon, Ojos del Salar and lagoon Tebinquinche

DAY 1:

Excursion to the Valley of the Moon (4 pm at the agency snails 400)

In the afternoon, we will make the excursion to the famous Valley of the Moon, located approximately 10 km from San Pedro de Atacama, declared a sanctuary of nature. It is a place with beautiful shapes and colors where we can walk and observe a geological show with sculptural forms, similar to those of the lunar surface. Visit the salt statues "Las Tres Marías", the salt caverns. We will climb to the great dune at sunset to admire in all its splendor this beautiful panorama.

DAY 2: (between 6.30am to 7am we pick them up at the hostel)

Red Stones:

Our first stop will take place after approximately 1 hour of travel in the Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons, at 4200 m s. n. m. In these lagoons you have breakfast and you can appreciate the fauna of the place.

Next, we will go to Piedras Rojas, where we will visit the Salar de Aguas Calientes and the Salar de Talar, where we will be able to appreciate the reddish rock formations. The next stop will be in the Atacameño town of Socaire for lunch. You can also observe the culture terraces and the village church.

Then you will visit
 the Salar de Atacama, the largest salt lake in Chile, where the national flamingo reserve is located and you can visit the Chaxan lagoon to see 3 types of flamingos, as well as other species that inhabit the salt lagoons.

As a last stop, we can visit the town of Toconao.

DAY 3:
8 am to 1:30 pm Pick up at the hostel.

Expedition in Rainbow Valley
Expedition to the colorful mountains of the Rainbow Valley and be amazed by the historic petroglyphs of Yerbas Buenas.
On the way west of San Pedro de Atacama, we visit Yerbas Buenas, a sector of great historical importance, since it has one of the most important petroglyph groups in the region. Through this place they crossed caravans of indigenous people who came from the Argentine northeast and the Bolivian Altiplano, and reached the Pacific Ocean. We will find carvings and drawings in rock very varied as llamas, camelids, birds, monkeys and dogs.
Then and when crossing Matancilla, we will meet the Rainbow Valley, named for the various colors that the presence of minerals gives to its mountains. Earth colors, reddish, beige, green, white and yellow, account for different concentrations of salts, clay and minerals. We will make a walk through its rock formations and the unique landscape of the place.

Laguna Cejar We are at the agency Caracoles 400 15 minutes before

It is located more than 2600 meters above sea level.

This lagoon is dominated by a great beauty of landscapes, deep turquoise waters and salt formations.

This extraordinary case of geomorphological formation is unique in the Atacama salt flat and is part of the pink flamingos' immigration trajectory. This whole area with a background with exceptionally decorated formations and colors is a spectacular place to watch the sunset.

DAY 4: between 4.30 am and 5am we will pick you up at the hostel
Excursion to the Tatio Geyser

At an altitude of 4300 meters and along a route that we will make at night, we will arrive at this spectacular sector of our plateau at approximately 6.45 h; Normally, the temperature at this time is below zero.

We will have breakfast and take a guided walk through the geothermal field to observe the impressive columns of steam (Geyser), the fumaroles, hundreds of boiling water pools and high peaks is a spectacular view of nature at dawn. In this sector, we can see part of the typical Andean fauna such as Vizcachas and Vicuñas. Next, we will go to the thermal pool area with water at about 40º, where passengers can take a restful bath. Next, we will begin the trip back to San Pedro through the impressive landscape of the Andes mountain range; On the route you can see the Tocorpuri and Licancacabur volcano. Arrival in San Pedro at approximately 12:00.
