Rum Distilleries Tour (Clarke’s Court and Water Powered River Antoine

Clarke’s Court is the island’s largest distillery and has been operational since 1936. Here you would learn of the distilling,aging, blending and bottling process of sugar cane, syrup, molasses & rum. Towards the end of the tour you will be invited to sample their award-winning rums at the sample bar.
The half-day tour option includes bonus stops at the scenic Fort Frederick & Annandale Falls
For the full-day tour option we continue on to Grand Etang National Park & Lake where you’ll get to experience the peace of the water's edge & perhaps interact with its hospitable Mona monkeys and feed the fishes.
The next stop is River Antione rum distillery at the North East of the Island... Built in 1785, it’s the oldest functioning water-propelled distillery not only in Grenada, but throughout the Caribbean. Be ready to taste a variety of well blended products. We'll then wrap up your tour with a stop at Lake Antione (Grenada's second largest crater lake) before heading back to St. George's.

Stop At: Clarke's Court Rum Distillery, Woodlands St, St. George's Grenada

Clarke’s Court Rum Distillery, Grenada Distillers Limited, it is a "must see" for all visitors, they are the island’s best-known and largest distillery and one of the most interesting historical sites. The factory has been in operation since 1937, and is situated in the southern part of the island, in the Parish of St George.

When you arrive you would be welcomed by one of the friendly and knowledgeable tour guides, who would explain their history and all the different processes and stages of making their fine rum. You would learn of the distilling process from sugar cane, syrup and molasses, to rum, and also the aging, blending and bottling processes of making rum. On tour you would also get the opportunity to discover old steam engines, some dating as far back as 1886.

The tour of the factory lasts about 15-20 minutes, after which you would be escorted to our Hospitality Center, where you will see our unique Barrel Furniture and an interesting display of the Clarke’s Court products. Last but not least, you are invited to sample their award-winning rums at the sample bar. You would be given recipes on different ways you can mix our rum and truly appreciate the taste of their fine products.

Stop At: Fort Frederick, St. George's Grenada

Perched atop Richmond Hill at the center of St. George's, Fort Frederick is a bastion type fort, which offers a 360 view of St. George’s. After a walk through its grand arches, you look southward onto the town of St. George's and admire the picturesque Carenage and northward to the rolling mountain ridges covered in lush vegetation and quaint houses. Today, Fort Frederick is an attraction of beautiful vistas and various levels with enchanting perspectives of the capital city of Grenada.

Stop At: Annandale Falls, St. George's Grenada

At Annandale falls you will enjoy the serenity of water cascading over the rocks, simply revel in the beauty and sounds of the falls or you can spend time in the surrounding gardens where tropical flowers and trees flourish.

Stop At: Grand Etang Lake, Grand Etang National Park Grenada

As we proceed through the town of St. George’s you’ll be welcomed with some stunning panoramic view of the Island. As we travel through the mountains you’ll begin to have a first hand experience of the Island's Tropical interiors. At Grand Etang Park you’ll get to learn about some of it’s beautiful plants and hospitable animals. You’ll be guided through the beautiful rainforest to the world’s famous Grand Etang crater Lake which is 1,800 feet (550 m) above sea level and one of the two crater lakes on the Island. At this point you’ll have a perfect view of mount Qua Qua, feed the lake fishes and experience the peace of the water’s edge

Stop At: Lake Antoine National Landmark, Grenada

Another example of Grenada’s natural beauty, and variety is Lake Antoine. It’s located in Grenada’s most northern parish, St Patricks.

It is the second largest lake on the island, the largest is Grand Etang Lake.

Lake Anotine is the source of River Antoine, which plays a vital role at River Antoine Estate, the home of Grenada’s famous Rivers Rum

This crater lake, like Grand Etang, is host to a wide variety of wildlife. The lake's perimeter trail, a beautiful walk in itself, is another of Grenada's excellent attractions for birdwatchers. Among the species frequently sighted are the snail kite, the fulvous whistling duck, large billed seed-finch, gray kingbird and limpkin.

The fertile soil around the lake is used for the cultivation of Organic Bananas that are exported.

Lake Antoine is a nice spot for pictures, and appreciating Grenada’s unspoiled beauty.

Stop At: River Antoine Estate Rum Distillery, Grenada

Built in 1785, River Antoine rum distillery is the oldest functioning water-propelled distillery not only in Grenada, but throughout the Caribbean. On this tour you’ll be guided through the facility by a production expert. Here you’ll learn more about how this distillery still use traditional methods for production. Be ready to taste a variety of its well blended products. Next we wrap up the tour with a stop at Lake Antoine (Grenada’s second crater lake) before heading back to pickup point (cruise ship terminal or hotel) through the eastern parish of St. David’s.
