The tour also includes a brief Montego Bay City Highlights where you will visit sites like Sam Sharp Square, Saint James Parish Church (Built in 1775) and the Richmond Hill Great House which is located on top of a hill in the center of town. From there you get a panoramic view of the entire city.

Stop At: Rastafari Indigenous Village, Montego Bay Street Jamaica

We implore you to take up this rare opportunity to go inside the Rastafari Village to learn about their customs, heritage and rich culture. Never before have you seen such resilience, warmth, love & the resolve to keep the Rastafarian movement alive after been heavily criticized and brutalized by other groups during & after the 1930s when the movement started in Jamaica, hence the song done by the reggae legend Bob Marley "Rasta Man Live Up".

On the day of the tour we will meet you at the time specified at your hotel main lobby. Kindly have a printed or electronic copy of your voucher ready for verification. As soon as that is done & you are seated in one of our cool air-conditioned van/bus, we set off for the village so relax & enjoy the breathtaking scenery for the next few minutes (15 - 40 minutes) while we make our way to village. Don't forget to take lots of photos on the way. However, we do suggest that you ask permission to take photos at the village just to be polite. Our tour guides are very informative, professional & patient. Will welcome all the questions you have while volunteering information on Rastafarian/Jamaica's rich history so feel free to engage them.

At the village, a resident guide will meet you upon arrival. You have to hop across a small steam to get to the Village so wear sneakers/water shoes that will dry quickly. An abundance of information awaits you. Samples of fresh fruits & fresh fruit juices will be available. You will be treated to about 30 minutes of real authentic Congo drumming and chanting. At the end of the tour your tour guide will take you to see the various facial products & souvenirs that are produced right there in the village - also an array of local plants and herbs. Feel free to purchase their homemade items and show your appreciation.

Stop At: Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay Jamaica

This tour takes you to downtown Montego Bay. Your first 10minutes stop will be at Sam Sharp Square. This area got its name from a freed slave who carried the same name and who led one of the bloodiest uprising in Jamaica on Christmas day in the year 1831. In this area, there is a statue of Sam Sharp and other slaves who were severely punished in the year 1832 for the Christmas day uprising that took place. Feel free to exit the vehicle and browse around. There is also the "Cage" which was originally constructed from wood in the year 1806. However, it was later reconstructed from bricks. The cage was used as a holding area for runaway Slaves who were held there until they were sent back to their plantations. It was also used as a holding area for vagrants and rowdy seamen who would get drunk and was behaving disorderly.

Stop At: St James Parish Church, Payne Street, Montego Bay Jamaica

The tour will continue to the St., James Parish Church for a 30 minutes visit. This Anglican Church, built in 1775 is one of the oldest churches in the Montego Bay area. It boasts an amazing architecture and some of the contents ranging back from as far as over 200 years ago. Built to last for centuries, this church is still fully functional as back in the days when it was first constructed. Be sure to read the marble plaques and headstones that displays an array of exquisite poems well wishes written in old English. Feel free to browse around and read the headstones. The church will always accept a contribution at your pleasure.

Stop At: Richmond Hill Great House, Union Street, Montego Bay, Jamaica

Our next stop will be at the elegant Richmond Hill Great House. This colonial style Great House is located 500 feet above the hustle and bustle of Montego Bay City. Built in 1804 by members of the Dewar family, original owners of the Dewars Whisky. This Great House sits strategically on top of a hill in the center of town and is home to several movie scenes including James Bond Movies. From there, you get a panoramic view of the entire city of Montego Bay. The view stretches over 25 miles (40.23 meters) beyond. Relax by the pool for a moment or just sit by the bar and have a cold red stripe (extra cost). Your tour guide will tell you all about the rich history of Richmond Hill Great House while doing your walk through. After a 30 minutes stop it will be time to stop at one of our many jerk chicken spot so you can purchase authentic Jamaican jerk chicken and then head back to your hotel.
