You will be collected from your accommodation in Hobart and we will depart at around 8:30am to spend the day in Mount Field National Park and the Styx Valley of the Giants.

You will travel in a comfortable and modern small vehicle.

After just over 1 hour of driving, during which you will begin the discussion on photographic tips and tricks, you will arrive at Mt Field to spend the morning on the Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls tracks. The main subject for photography will of course be the waterfalls, and your photographer guide will discuss exposure techniques for achieving the beautiful silky effect of cascading water.

Lunch is included at the Waterfalls Cafe in the Visitor Centre.

After lunch, drive approximately 30 minutes to the secluded Styx Valley. The first stop will be on the bridge where you will keep your eyes open for the ever elusive platypus. You will then spend a couple of hours viewing and photographing the tall trees and beautiful rainforest including a stunning walk along the banks of the Styx River.

The day is designed to allow participants ample time to learn lots while enjoying the experience of being in this wonderful environment. The small group nature of the workshop guarantees the opportunity to discuss all the fundamental aspects of aspects of landscape photography such as composition, ISO, filters and exposure settings.
