Travel to the end of the world!! Join us in this adventure and get to know the most southerly capital city in the world, Ushuaia. Be astonished by its landscape littered with dense forests, snow-capped mountains, lakes and millenary glaciers.

Then visit the world-famous Los Glaciares National Park, situated near the town of El Calafate. These are two of Argentina’s tourist attractions that you simply cannot afford to miss.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Ushuaia & transfer to Hotel

Day 2: Tierra del Fuego National Park with Hike

Stop At: Southern Fuegian Railway, RN3 km 3065, V9410 Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina
It starts when we pick up our passengers at their hotels to take them to the

Tierra del Fuego National Park, which is just 12 km away from the city.

Before we get to the park, there is a previous stop: The Train of the End of

the World.

Those who wish to take this optional ride will be making the same way

prisoners made many years ago, logging down trees and collecting firewood

for the small old town of Ushuaia. The train goes through magnificent

Scenery: the woods, rivers, peat bogs and the ruins of a native settlement.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Tierra del Fuego National Park, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego Province, Argentina
There is also a stop at Macarena cascade before going into the Tierra del

Fuego National Park.

Once at Tierra del Fuego National Park we will visit Ensenada Zaratiegui where you can observe the most typical species of this sub-antartic wood such as Lengas, Nires, Coihues, some bushes like Calafate and Michay Canelos and the so-called “Old man’s beard”

Pass By: Mirador Laguna Verde, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego Province, Argentina
We will then continue towards Verde Lagoon, with beautiful sceneries.

Pass By: Bahia Lapataia, Ushuaia Argentina
We are going to be able to see some peat bogs and beaver dams.

Pass By: Lago Roca, Tierra del Fuego National Park Argentina
There will be a final stop at Roca Lake and from there we will return to the city.

Day 3: Port Almanza with Trekk & Canoes

Stop At: Puerto Almanza, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego Province, Argentina
We invite you to enjoy the amazing landscape of southern Tierra del Fuego.

The trip begins when we look for passengers at their Hotel around 8.30 in the morning. With everyone on board, we take National Route No. 3 to the north.

As we move away from the Beagle Channel, the mounts Olivia and Cinco Hermanos are drawn on the horizon. The Carbajal Valley, where the peat moss is harvested and processed, it awaits us on the other side of the first mountain range.

Arriving at the Tierra Mayor Valley, we can observe the Bonete hills, Alvear and some cirque glaciers.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Cerro Castor (Castor Mount), Ushuaia Argentina
After crossing "Cerro Castor" ski resort, a place where in winter thousands of tourists and many residents practice their favorite winter sports, we will take the detour to the complementary route "J" following the course of the Larsifashaj River.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Estancia Harberton, Tierra del Fuego Province, Argentina
This trip of 1:30 hs culminates in the camping of the Larsifashaj River where the canoes will be prepared for the next stage of the excursion.

Once equipped and after having received the safety talk, We begin the descent of the river (always accompanied by specialized guides) As we descend, we will have the opportunity to contemplate the local birds fauna, Swallows, cachañas, loicas and becasinas will show up along the way.

After rowing for 30 minutes and reaching the river mouth, we will have reached the Relegada Bay, home of

Imperial cormorants and steam ducks among other species. Occasionally, due to the large population of fish and species of invertebrates, there is the sighting of sea lions and South American fur seals as well as some whales.

The paddling ends, after 1 hour, with a soup or hot drinks in the proximity to the legendary Harberton Estancia (the first on the island), founded in 1886 by the Anglican missionary Thomas Bridges.

Stop At: La Mesita De Almanza, Río Almanza, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina
From there we will go to La Mesita de Almanza, a typical “Fuegian bodegón”, to enjoy an exquisite lunch (based on seafood).

After lunch we will start a walk to the “El Duende waterfall”, a beautiful highlight from the Andes mountain range.

At the end of the walk we will begin the return to the city.

Day 4: Escondido & Fagnano Lake with Hikes and 4X4

Stop At: Mirador de Lagos Escondido y Fagnano, Ushuaia Argentina
All on board, we take the National Route 3 heading north.

Going away from the Beagle Channel, Olivia and Cinco Hermanos

Mountains can be spotted in the horizon, as well as the Carbajal

Valley where the economic exploitation of peat takes place.

The road takes us towards Tierra Mayor Valley; from there we can see the Cerros Bonete, Alvear and some cirque glaciers. Then we go through Cerro Castor ski centre, in winter thousands of tourists and local people practice their favorite winter sports: cross-country and alpine ski, snowboard, dog-sled racing, etc

We continue along the road until we reach the Garibaldi Pass, 450 meters above sea-level, where people can admire the breath-taking panoramic view of Escondido and Fagnano Lakes.

After that we head to the Bronsovich sawmill and, from there, we take the provincial route 119, for about 10km we get to our new OFF road, and old loggers path that will lead us through an ancient lenga forest to the Fagnano Lake. Finishing the OFF Road we go towards an amazing place by the lake with one of the most overwhelming views in Tierra del Fuego. Lunch will be served by the owners of the place.

After enjoying this wonderful site, which is really MAGIC we will go back to the city.

Day 5: Ushuaia – El Calafate

Day 6: Big Ice excursion – trekking on Perito Moreno Glacier

Stop At: Puerto Bajo las Sombras - Hielo y Aventura, Parque Nacional los Glaciares, Z9405 El Calafate, Santa Cruz, Argentina
We wish you join us in this wonderful experience. The excursion begins in the embarking pier located in “Bajo de las Sombras” port, about 6 km before the glacier Balconies- wher e you embark for a 10 minutes navigation across the Rico Arm, enjoying breathtaking views of the Perito Moreno glacier’s front walls.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Perito Moreno Glacier, Los Glaciares National Park Argentina
After checking the gear, we get ready, pick up the crampons and walk following the lateral moraine, for an hour and a half, until we reach the access to the glacier. After fitting harnesses and crampons on our footwear we start the ice trekking.

There is a breathtaking view of the immense plateau of ice. During the walk you will be introduced to a number of features within the ice., huge moulins, crevasses, caves, and above all the special feeling of exploring the middle of the ice.

Expert bilingual mountain guides will always lead you, looking after your safety and teaching you the “ways of the ice”. You will hike for about 3 hours and a half, and spend some time having lunch somewhere on the ice.

Back on the moraine we start our descent back to the port, to take the boat and navigate for 20 minutes, very close to the southern wall. We are glad to be able to offer one of the most spectacular Ice-hikes in the world.

Day 7: Horseback riding & Rafting at Estancia La Leona

Stop At: Parador La Leona, La Leóna, Santa Cruz, Argentina
Unique adventure tour of its kind as it combines in one full day a horse-riding in front of Lake Viedma with lunch at Estancia La Estela, while you marvel with spectacular sceneries.

If you book the tour with transfer, we will pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate to start the journey heading north on the famous Route 40. Halfway, we will stop at the viewpoint of Lake Argentino where you will have an explanation about geology and glaciology to, then, continue the journey until we reach the mythical Parador La Leona. Passengers who have not booked the transfer must go to the Parador La Leona. There, you will do a short visit to the museum of this typical pla ce and enjoy cafetería service with a mix of homemade cakes, to then reach our destination: Estancia La Estela.

Stop At: Estancia La Estela, Ruta 40, Lago Viedma, Santa Cruz, Argentina
Once arrived in this estancia, as it is located in a privileged position overlooking Lake Viedma, you can marvel at stunning views of Cerro Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, Viedma Glacier and The Andes. You will take a walk through the estancia getting ready for one the main activities of the tour: the horseriding. By midmorning starts 3 hours ride in which you will visit the Yaten Refuge, locate d at the tip of Lake Viedma and where La Leona River rises. During the tour, you will appreciate the Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre as a Patagonian postcard. Besides, you will have a brief review of flora and fauna.

Back in Estancia La Estela, you will have lunch with starter (meat and vegetable turnovers), main course (steaks with rustic potatoes) and dessert (pancakes with caramel, strawberries and chocolate sauce). A vegetarian option is also available ordering in advance. Drinks included.

Once lunch is over, we have time for relax in the SUM in the Estancia.

To finish the day, you will have a toast at Parador La Leona with the favorite Gauchos drink: “caña”, always served by fried cakes. If you take the morning shift, you will return to El Calafate at 16:00 and, if you take the afternoon shift, you will return at 21:30.
