Cybercrime Code Ready Internet service providers are preparing for a new cybercrime code of conduct that will detail how much data they should keep on subscribers in order to co-operate with police and other law enforcement agencies.

| The Internet Industry Association (IIA) is released the draft of its Cybercrime code of conduct. The draft code is the result of more than a year of collaboration between the internet industry and representatives from police and crime authorities. Cybersecurity Agency Improves Patching National Cyber Security Division officials want to improve the governmentwide computer patching service so more agencies use it. More than 40 agencies had signed up so far for the Patch Authentication and Dissemination Capability, which tracks vulnerabilities and patches and sends out any tested patches to agencies based on their subscription profile.

| Not all of the agencies that signed up are actually using the service, however, and officials in the Federal Computer Incident Response Center are now looking at how to modify the contract. They may have needed to improve the overall program so it better meets the customer needs. learn more.. |

Getting Smart about Intelligence Recently a reporter called the Pentagon's public affairs office and asked for the location and itinerary of certain aircraft carriers and their battle groups. He was told that this information is classified and not available to the media. The reporter then went to Google, entered the name of the aircraft carrier, found its home page and printed out the ship's entire schedule for the next year. He also got all sorts of juicy information about the captain, his military history and tons of tidbits on the senior officers.
