This Spanish Colonial style Hotel and "Opera House" treasure and the fact it is a busy tourist destination still today is a testimony to one woman "putting it on the map" so to speak. Visitor's are welcome to tour the Hotel and the Opera House that New York Actress and Dancer Marta Beckett fell in love with - upon visiting it, bought it, and remained there the rest of her life performing in her Opera House, for the most part, alone - even without an audience except for the one she painted (and very well!) on the walls. She performed daily and eventually, when word got out, people DID come!! It is a must see!!
