Coffee | Roast-Brew-Pair - Open Eye Society

We pride ourselves on ourselves on our Whiskey Barrel-Aged Coffee. We age our coffee green beans in a whiskey barrel for almost a month to soak up all those spirit flavors. Then, you will roast up the whiskey barrel-aged coffee before brewing it up yourself to pair with hand-selected local craft chocolate in the class.

Itinerary

In this small class, you will get to roast and brew up our Whiskey Barrel-Aged coffee and pair it with Chattanooga's very own locally made chocolate from Belle's Chocolate. We want everyone to see the transformation of the coffee bean through the roasting process and understand what changes are taking effect. From there, you will brew up your own coffee to dive into the aromas and taste of Whiskey Barrel-Aged coffee. To kick the experience up, even more, we will pair it with some craft chocolate that will compliment the coffee perfectly. The class will be held at Handle and Bar.

What you will receive:

You will get hands-on experience roasting and the proper technique to achieve the best results.

You will gain an incredible knowledge of the coffee bean's transformation through all the roasting phases.

You will get hands-on experience brewing with a V60, Chemex, or Kalita Wave and the proper techniques for each.
